First time watching your channel (I’ve seen this type of machine before) however it’s a different story when you watch a operator that knows not only how to operate the machines but also knows the business behind why he does what he does rather than being just a guy that’s told to cut logs a certain way! Very impressive

I don't know who these arm chair play station loggers are, but I have been around logging and sides for well over twenty five years, and when weyerhaeuser has had over twenty sorts of wood on thier logging sides, and for the ones who critisice this processor operator for his lengths, sorts, size, and cleanliness sorting and processing this timber has either never been around or been a logger, as this operator is doing a amazing job with everything he is doing and keeping his sorts neat, separated and the waste away from the desks. My hats off to him and he is a appitamy of what makes a great, one of the few operators that makes a picture perfect timber west operator.

Another great video smooth operator and man don’t pay no attention to none of them jugheads that’s leaving those comments about you wasting wood. The only reason they’re doing that is because they wish they could run a machine as smooth as you can so by saying all of that I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and will see you on your next video my friend

Nice Job. Love watching. How does the Skidder have enough room between your machine and where he drops the logs ? Looks so close. Or is it just the camera angle ?

And the mill owners and government allowing countries come in and pay good money to export uncut timber to be exported, and get all the good grain timber for thier building needs, and we're left with all the heart cut knotty timber to be cut into dimensional lumber, which would be considered utility grade a few years back, leaving lumber that is hard to find anything decent in the lumber yards. I have no problem with export, but no log should leave this country without atheist being cut into cants or some form of finish lumber, and keep some of the money and good timber here to be sawn into decent lumber, instead of when klin dried, make boat or radius lumber.

I realize it's super easy to criticize someone else's operation, but everywhere I've operated loader or processor, it's always been the skidders responsibility to push what brush it can to clean out the landing, then when the skidder can't push any more the loader climbs the pile and swings it away and piles it higher. Obviously the loader can be busy elsewhere, but it looks like it was just kinda futzing around here and had the time if he wanted.

Wondering why you guys don’t divide the sorts with some vertical logs in pile?? We do that on the coast here. BC

I don't care for lifting trees over bunk logs. If you really wanted to maximize a processor you wouldn't even sort with one, or pile brush.

Would a 2156 have enough power to Run Hardwood? Have you ever ran a Waratah? Just curious. Thanks!

Not much experience with hardwood or Waratah. Looks like 2156 has about the same hp and flow as 2154. I've cut alot of birch, and large trees with our setup. As long as you can set the knives loose and have some technique, I think it would work. Couldn't be any worse than some of our ridge top wood we have around here.

All depends on your hardwoods. Most hardwoods require more technique than sheer power, although that's important. IMO neither waratah or logmax is worth anything in hardwood, but I have limited experience with newer logmax heads.

@@robwar2288 as mentioned, it depends on the hardwoods. I've seen luck with waratah in the really big oaks and gums in the south, but we've had great luck with Ponsse h8's in the great lakes hardwood. Really snappy power, and a fairly short frame so they are really maneuverable in the crooks and crotches.

@@robwar2288 what ever brand is used, I would think that a top saw would be highly beneficial. I will note that log max has the ability to run trees with all knives open. It also has extensive individual knife control in the computer, and hand controls. Which helps alot with crooked stems.
