i lost the hose right under that filter tonight, kind of miffed about it in that its terrible placement.

Kalsprite I am not happy with the placement of these filters and hoses either. I am surprised that I haven't had issues with a puncture with all the work in the woods cleaning up logs, limbs and rocks. We appreciate the viewership and comments.

Robert, Yes hydratran oil is used for the transmission and hydraulics. The dipstick on 3038e is located above the PTO in the rear of the tractor.

@@midwesthuntingoutdoors​​⁠Thank you… while I noticed the dipstick & refill “behind / below” the seat, my old Farmall experience was thinking tranny & hydraulic were separate… not in this 3038E case. Thanks for confirming!
