John Deere 332 Diesel Bercomac Snowblowing Record Snowfall

It's been a long and very cold winter with average temperatures in the -30C range. The snow is getting to the point where we can not throw it anywhere! But I will keep at it with my 1989 332 Diesel tractor. I had modified a 2 Stage Craftsman snowblower to fit on the front of this beast. It sure saves my back and makes quick work of the snow. I love this thing. Any questions feel free to ask!

I do believe that being able to beat back Winter while staying nice and dry and warm without having to pay a lot of money for yard maintenance and waiting for service is in itself relaxing and self satisfying.

I have the 318 with the Berco blower. That blower is a great snowblower but wish it wasn’t so loud . I replaced bearings, belt and the gear chains this winter. I also replaced the engine with a Vanguard 18 hp . I like that setup you have . I have a gravel driveway so I welded on some bigger skid plates. I haven’t tried this new setup out cuz we are finally getting plowable snow tonight here in Northern Minnesota.

Sounds pretty sweet. As much as this setup worked great for me, I got tired of changing the setup back and forth every spring and fall. Bolting on the brackets and routing belts was annoying. I eventually traded the setup for a Kubota bx2230, with the quick attach loader and snowblower it has been just amazing. It blows snow very well, however I will say I still think my old bercomac setup threw the snow further. Probably ran at higher RPM.

I like your drive thru garage. Sweet setup on your tractor and snow blower. From the looks of the snow you have piled you need it.

Thanks. I just got her setup for this year! I decided to switch the blower pulley from a 6" to a 5" it should throw snow much easier and further now!

Like your wheel weights or snow blower not every thing has to say JohnDeere on them. I have seen JohnDeere blowers and yours seems to work better. Nice tractor and package. Thank You

Spring and summer is a good time of year to serch "Berco and Bercomac" in Craigslist and EBay. April of 2013 I saw a simple ad on CL with a poor picture. Ad was "Husqvarna bagger and snowblower attachments $300. Won't separate". I thought the blower might have been a Berco and took a chance driving 60 miles one way. My guess was right as it was a 700255 Berco used 1-2 times. I got it and bagger for $300. I later sold the bagger for $100 reducing my Berco investment to $200. Now I have to adapt it to fit my Toro 520xi garden tractor. The driveway going to my storage is 1000 feet long and the owner doesn't get to the driveway as fast as he used to.

I usually shy away from johndeer, but that pretty impressive. I would use it on the farm. Beats kabota crap by long shot.

do you have pictures of the inside of how you mounted the plexiglass in? I have the same doors and windows are hazy and have a hard time seeing out. how thick of plexiglass did you use. thanks

I took a razor and cut out the old film all the way around. Than I cut a piece of Plexiglass, which I had kicking around, maybe 1/8" thick, slightly larger than the window opening. Than I held it up to the opening in the door (on the inside) and drilled holes through the Plexiglass in each corner right through the fabric but between the stitching and just bolted it on. I think I also added Velcro between the Plexiglass and the fabric to make a good seal. Sounds confusing but I hope that helps.

What model is the blower, Deluxe, Northeast? Is it 44 inches or 40 inches wide?

Northern Maine it was the 40" northeast model.

Hi, where are you from? if you are in town I would not have a problem at all helping you out. However it is not something I can throw together and ship out. As I used most of the original framework for that snowblower that was already with the craftsman. I could send you whatever pictures you need

I offered I would help you? I don't recall that. I can't provide you with any pictures, as I eventually sold the tractor combination and bought a Kubota setup with a loser and blower etc. I don't have any plans or drawings, I modified brackets and whatnot myself to make the setup work. Probably not something I can really explain without being there..

Actually it flies well over the roof, and I barely have any snow accumulate on my garage roof all winter. I also do not own this setup anymore. I have a larger Kubota sub compact with a big blower on it.
