JOHN DEERE 4010 AND F145H PLOW (PLANT 2021)

Must have some light soils. I farmed in southern Minnesota, we had heavy ground. I pulled the same plow, only 3 - 16 with my 4010. Then I got my 4020 and switched to an IH 3- 18 with the automatic trip bottoms. That was a very good match for my soil, and, the bigger clearance worked will when plowing un-chopped corn stalks. This was back in the day when minimum tillage was just starting, and, I also used a chisel plow for my bean and small grain ground. Nice video, brings back some fine memories for me.

This 4010 is around 110 hp I’m sure that is helpful too

Does it have an aftermarket turbo on it. No way the 4010 had those stock. I had both a 4010 and 3010, then up graded to a 4020 and 3020.@@andrewssoundsofthepast110

What's that engine out of? It's newer that the 380-D that came in a 4010. Dad bought a '63 4010-D December of '68, already had the 4020 kit in the engine, it REALLY struggled with 5-14's with the Midwest plow harrow, one afternoon we took the back bottom off. I always tried to plow in 5th gear, but in sod 4th was as fast as it would pull the 4 bottom. Dad had a really good pump rebuilding come over on night, overhauled the inj pump and set for 100 hp and it started getting the work done Did a lot of plowing for the Neighbor with 5-14's F-145, behind one of 3 different 4020's or a 4320. I was surprised when you hit the rocks. Back home we had NO ROCKS!

I’ve been looking for a plow like that around here for my 3020. Looking for some rear wheel weights too. Nice job of plowing, my luck my camera would fall in the furrow if I did that, nice camera angles . Tractor runs strong.
