I've had my 4100 since 10/2000 and now has over 1,000hrs on it. The diff lock is placed so that you can use your left heal to push down and lock both back wheels for extra traction. I run mine in two-wheel drive unless I'm pulling 20-30 foot logs across the ground. Never had a problem. Did my 500hr maintenance back about 2013!

Pushing 1K hours on these compact tractors is pretty neat! I think ours has around 600 hrs. I'm not sure when my grandparents bought it, but they are great machines! Out of curiosity, do you happen to also have issues with the drawbar hitting the tires?

I have the same tractor. The red lever you said is the differential lock is the 4x4 lock locking in the 4 wheel drive, the one next to it is the differential lock. I'm sure that's probable what you meant but you might confuse someone who doesn't know. differential lock means locking both wheels on a common shaft forcing both wheels to pull at the same time , also known as positive traction. But very good job on the video. keep them coming.

i see the speed control for the hydraulics here at time approx 1:30 my question is that yellow cap just to the left of your hand when you show that speed control. Is that where you would fill the hydraulic oil? Is the hydraulic oil different to the hydro-static oil? I have a leak in the line that controls the bucket and after i repair and install a new line where would i refill the hydraulic oil. I just purchased a manual for the 4100 tractor and it does not show it on there.

Yes, hydraulic oil runs both the hydrostatic drive and the front loader circuits. I have never had to fill it though so I'm unsure if that's the fill cap, but I believe it is.

Its hydrostatic drive.

he calls the 4wd control differential lock. Dif locl does not have a red handle!

Are you sure? This is a hydrostatic tractor. I'm pretty sure the 4wd is on all the time.

I don't think there is any issues. I have been driving this tractor for years, I pretty sure I wouldn't be able to drive it if I didn't know the controls.
