Great video!! I’m restoring a 420 with a holt blade just like yours but it is the angle blade. I was wondering if you could get some measurements and some close up pics of the cylinders for the blade. Ours are missing and I’d like to find something similar. Thanks.

Dad had a doser and bought a tract loader that had been under water. At first it was for parts. Me and my cousin Todd took it apart in the driveway and moved the parts to the shed. Then pulled the rest down the hill and pushed it into the shed. Then the cleaning and putting it back together.

Nice. Did you ever get it running?
@mikejohnson5491 Жыл бұрын
@@gotwoodinhead6814 yeah didn't really have to get anything but a gasket kit. Me and my cousin were pretty young but my dad and uncle did a lot of maintain on cars trucks boats farm equipment. Dad had to buy one gear because of a broken tooth, sorta big and it cost more than the tract loader that had been under water. Dads friend had a 3/4 ton truck and we had a heavy duty tilt trailer and used the dozer to push it on the trailer and chained it to a tree and pulled the trailer out from under it.

Man I'd love to get a winch for mine someday. They're quite spendy though and usually need rebuilding. There's not many tasks put before the machine it can't do. Havent found a log it can't pull yet! Thanks for the comment.

My father had a series 40 1956 I believe. Ran great for many years logged and firewood on a trailer. It was yellow,with a three point hitch along with a blade on front that you could manually adjust the angle.

Yes, I've seen those. Very interesting and very handy machines! Unless someone painted it later, the ones painted yellow from the factory were manufactured to be used by government agencies- county, state, etc. and later sold to the public.

@@gotwoodinhead6814 No,it was brand new. Sold by JD dealer in Sanford Maine. In the many I have viewed on this site I have not seen one with the type of blade Dad had,and that was as it came to him. I was on that tractor the day he had it delivered. He paid I believe around 2600.00 for it. I sold it in 1993 for 2500.00 A guy wanted it for towing a brush cuter up ski slopes. Had thepins and bushings on the tracks done once,very interesting operation. I so loved that tractor .
