I am glad that I found your channel. I find your videos very informative. I have an opportunity to get myself a 425 for $500. It needs a little work but nothing major so I am learning things like this jus in case.

Even if it needs work, $500 for a 425 is total bargain! Good luck with it. I am pleased you find the videos helpful. 👍

Used your videos for reference in re-building by FD620D and noticed the video shows a dark brown governor assembly. When I disassembled my FD, I had the same dark brown governor and the fly wings(?) had weights on them. When I purchased my replacement parts, I included a new governor and it was white plastic without the weights. I used the new governor in the rebuild and now the engine surges at WOT. Would a governor without weights cause this type or surging, possibly trying to control the rpm but unable to with the lightweight governor or would the surging be related to a fuel problem? Never changed any carb settings and only cleaned off exterior and never had surging before rebuild, so I'm not thinking its a fuel issue. Any ideas would be appreciated, and keep up the videos. I'm sure I'll need them again.

Is there a way you can check to see if the engine runs without having it on the tractor? I had an engine on it and the key steel messed up it missed and sometimes ran like it might have been a cam. It was freshly rebuilt. So I was wondering if it was out of time because the key steel broke. I bought a different engine and was going to put it in instead.

I use the JD 4*5 manual and Kawasaki FD620D. It is useful to have both of them and I found links online and printed off the sections I needed. If I remember correctly, I found access to them via one of the forums...

I am rebuilding my engine and bought a donor engine and the crank is seized to bearing and can't remove the #1 cylinder because of position of journal on the crank shaft and previous owner tried to remove bolt and ended up rounding off the corner of the bolts and can't get the bolt removed. I am planning on cutting/grinding/flatting the one side of my box wrench so it will stay on bolt and won't slip off. Can you please tell me what steps you took to break the crank shaft loose from the bearing, which I think it might be stuck too? I tried putting flywheel back on and no luck. I am trying to make sure nothing happens to the donor block. I would appreciate any help or suggestion you give me.

How did you clean the carbon off the heads and pistons? Preparing to do my FD620D, and it’s got some major buildup on the heads but very little on the pistons.

Really like your videos, they have been helpful when I replaced my 445 engine. Random question, I saw on one of you old channels you had a 3 point dirt scoop on the back of the 445. What size was that, 24 or 30 inches? How did the 445 handle it? I know the scoop is heavy and I was wondering if you could put gravel or rocks on it without overloading the tractor. I do plan on getting front suitcase weights. Thanks.

Thanks, yes, there are a couple of old videos of my son using the dirt scoop and heavy grader, about 12 years ago. I still have those attachments and was planning to do a couple of new vids on them. That bucket is a very heavy King Cutter. I believe it is 30 ins. I find the 445 handles it very well. I used it a lot for rocks, dirt and gravel before I got the Little Buck Loader...

@@tesser5250 Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if the 30 inch would be too large. I would like a loader but honestly probably do not need it at this time and should be able to get more use out of adding a 3 point hitch.

I'm away from home with no access to my manuals and notes. However, from memory, I'm pretty certain that #1 cylinder is on the right, when looking from the tractor seat, fan/flywheel assembly end of the Kawasaki 620FD....
