Today, I finally breakdown and install a new battery for the John Deere 430. Tired of jumpstarting every time. Also some yard work and stories while I work. Thanks for watching, like, share, subscribe!

It does have a battery clamp. I just picked up my second 430 a month ago, finally get to work on it tomorrow 😅

Cool. If you don't mind sharing, where is it located and how is it installed and released with the battery in place?

I'll look tomorrow, and take a photo. My two 430's are 452 numbers apart (serial numbers), which I thought was cool 😎. I have to remove the diesel injection pump to replace a rotten freeze plug on new one, but it runs great.

You were smoking those tires on the Husqvarna!! 😂

I'm surprised I didn't hear about the 430 fogging up the shed. It does smoke till it gets warmed up.

Yeah I am pretty sure it is due to the glow plugs and the module. I believe they bypassed the relay and just got wired it to the switch.

@@LivingOutHere yep, sounds like what I've seen. Thanks for the link! I'm studying the sketch and rereading your comment to see if I can picture that hold-down part.

Do you have to use your glow plugs on the 430 during warm weather? Or would I just take longer to start?

Yes, I do use them. But usually only for 5-10 seconds for an instant startup.
