John Deere 4440 SCV rebuild.

I can’t believe how complicated those scv’s are. I’ve never seen anything like it and I’ve owned a Deere. Thought my new scv was pricey at $300 a valve, but I just take a wrench, spin it off and spin on a new one for the old Kubota.

They really aren’t that bad,the sell a honing kit that would be a must have if you were going to do this more then once

Good video...Got the last 4 acres of Barley off and B Bridges... Best sometimes is to hire a former JD mechanic's now on their own to do some work on older JD equipment.... Prairie Coast must have yer # Just wait till Brandt JD Farm Dealership Division buys out Prairie Coast??? $"You ain't seen nothing yet!"$ Also have a 4440... Have only worked on the back part of them SCV's Complicated as heck I always thought but not so... A lot of stuff??? for $$$ and seventies technology...Sexsmith F P old yard used to make a killing selling them used SCV's.. Why still running JD tips? in them not pioneer (conversion) in 2024...

Good to be done. Funny thing we have had finning do two service calls to the farm and they don’t charge us that much.

My 4630 will lift loader on its own too need to rebuild them. I try to stay away from the dealerships it’s ridiculous what they charge

Prolly needs new valves. I’m split on supporting dealers. On one hand I hate how unfair they bill on the other I like the have a good supplying and deletion or parts

They just took advantage of you. Not much more to say. They probably had no labor value in the book for it so they could get away with it. Ask them for book labor cost and see what they say then.

farmers garage collective - look for a garage building, lease it and hire a mechanic.

O-rings, valve honing and some set screw adjustments. perhaps barter will get you a better deal than this fake money
