Nice looking and running 45. Had one like that back years ago. It was my first combine I bought it when I was in my early 20's.

Do you have a combine now?

@@rogermiller7411 no I sold my last one which was a MF 550. I have a cousin with a big Case IH and a neighbor who cut a piece of wheat last week with a big 9660 John Deere. I'm doing mostly hay now days and I work on the railroad now and farm on the side. I enjoy watching the videos. I'll never not enjoy farming.

Good video! Looks like it is running good for you. I have a JD 55 I hope to cut wheat with next week if it is ready, praying for no breakdowns. Blessings

The wheat came in about 2 weeks early this year. Made 70 bu per acre at about 12 percent moisture. A 55 is a good combine so I’m sure you’ll do fine.

Dad had a '68 45 much like yours from '74 to '97 when he retired. Never did straight cut on small grains but always used a swather and belt pickup of the windrows. I have some video on my channel of soybean harvest with it in '96.

I’ll check it out.

Almost finished Roger? Looks like half way done there is a ton of straw to bale from what I can see. Combine looks and sounds great

Finished. Wheat did about 70 bushels per acre, a lot for such an old combine. The attendant at the grain elevator said my wheat was cleaner than any he’s seen. Not bad for a crop planted with a drill that’s 87 years old and harvested with a combine that’s 57 years old. I’m going to try to bale the straw with a 1953 Case 130 baler and a 1957 Case 400 tractor.

@rogermiller7411 that is awesome Roger. I always enjoy your videos. Can't wait to see the baler in action

We farm in se south dakota. Our first self propelled combine was a 45. It was a monster compared to our ford with a air cooled engine.

This is a step up for me. Before I was using a pull type JD 42. You can see it run on my Utube channel. I sold it to an Amish farmer who adapted it to horse drawn use. You can see it in action on my channel as well. Thanks for watching.
