Easiest way I’ve found to get that hay out is open the gate and just let it run. Usually when I dump a bale I leave the gate open for a few extra seconds and it usually empties those belts out. Or if that doesn’t work then raise the tension arm so you have slack in the belts then pull them apart and pull the hay out by hand

Nalley Hay Farms awesome I’ll try that. I found that raising the back half way open left the belts more slack than when fully open. It was easy to dig it out at that point. Thanks for the info.

at the end of every baling day i take a leaf blower and blow the loose hay away. takes less than 5 minutes. can not afford a baler fire. oil the chains while running and listen to the bearings. bad bearings and loose hay make baler fires.

The baler belongs to my buddy. He does the baling and I do cutting and taking. He cuts as well. He doesn’t keep it up as well as he should. Or didn’t at that time. Blowing it out and multiple cans of chain lube and grease in the twine cabinets on the side are a normal thing now. It’s way easier to blow out dry hay then to deal with it once it’s hardened up and gotten wet. Thanks for the comment!!
