My JD dealer dissuaded me from putting this blade on my D 160 saying the mower doesn't have enough horsepower and the frame is too light. Said i would be disappointed. What do you think?

Does the scraper blade work well on scraping/ pushing dirt? I’ve got some areas I want to remediate in my yard and wondering how the blade works for that purpose?

I agree. But they can still brake. I have had no issues other then losing cotterpines. And ware blade wares down fast but its ment too.

I'm so confused, the blade won't raise barely an inch and won't stay up, then it won't turn

Your chains are on inside out

A good observant eye, I wouldn't have noticed but yes you're right the across the tread connector chain links joining the around the rim circle links should be facing outward away from the tire side wall. I have a similar plow with weights and chains on my Craftsman yt3000 and I got so tired years ago of wrestling with installing the chains every winter busting my knuckles and pinching my fingers so I bought some used rims & new tires for the summer and just left the chains on permanently and made them my winter rims & tires. So much easier and faster now only takes me about 10 minutes to change them out without injuries. I like to straighten and re-align the cross chains along the treads every season after deflating the tires a few psi then reinflating them back to the set pressure to tighten back up.
