Thank you. Even though its almost 8 years old, it has been the best video to show how to.

Kudos to you for making this video. I have JD125 and made the mistake of buying the snow plow they make for that model. It also is a real pain to install and if you have to clear more than 3-4 inches of snow it is of little use. I'm debating whether I should double down and buy the snow blower. My fear is that it will not be able to handle heavy wet snow. I learned the hard way that JD's customers are not the consumer. Their products are designed to ensure their dealers get more business from frustrated consumers who struggle with getting their poorly designed products to function.

Just wanted to say a HUGE Thank you for your video. I received this same blower attachment for free and like you, I was told that by the dealer that it wouldn't fit on my 2017 D110. Thanks to you I proved them wrong. The only thing I had to buy was a new PTO cable and spring. the spring that was on the end of my PTO cable was massive (about twice the size in diameter, and it would rub against one of the pullies. So I went to the local John Deere store and said that I needed a smaller spring (it comes as one piece, spring and cable). They gave me one similar to the one you had. My blower was in much worse condition than yours was in, but thanks to your other video, I found all the parts I needed on the JD parts website to bring it back to life and I was blowing a foot of snow this morning! Again, Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. So far, I spent about $300 getting it up to par, but that's still better than $1500 for a new one!

I can't believe JD can't design something better. I could have had mine tractors snow blower on and off twice and by myself. I am not knocking you purchasing the tractor. Or blower that you did it is JD's fault for designing something the way they did. It looks like it works great from your last video but some engineers need to install these to see how to make them easier for customers. Thank You nice video and a super helper son you have....cheers

You made it twice as hard for yourselves by putting wood blocks underneath. All you need to do is drive into it without the blocks on a level surface, and tilt slightly

nice job now come help me with mine.:) my blower has a one piece rail assembly instead of two pieces like yours.john deere needs to make this easier. I have 6 hours in it and have the blower built and tractor prepped. Now i jus need to horse it on to the tractor.nice patience and a great helper you have. i have D160 and new JD thrower. worst install manual i have ever worked with. D160 has electric pto instructions are for manual cable type pto.

Well done! This confirmed a lot of the things I was trying to figure out.I have a LA125 with 42" Snowthrower as well.My only concern is the Main Drive belt does not feel very tight once PTO is engaged (I checked it by feel when the tractor was turned off). While running, the Snowthrower turns, but again I am concerned about the tension and if it will be able to work through the resistance of the snow. Any thoughts?
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive 7 жыл бұрын
The Snow Thrower belt tension can be adjusted via the chain that comes out on the right side of the tractor. Check out the video around the 19 minute mark. The video is a little dark but you should be able to see how it adjusts. If you need it tighter you can pull the chain out more. If you need more help contact us by responding to this comment and we can maybe make a new video that shows it better. Also, how old is the belt? If you can't tighter it anymore then maybe it has stretched too much and it is time for a new one.
@filoonfamily2385

Thank you, but the lower belt is great and I could see the tensioning process. I am referring to the upper belt from Main Drive Pulley to The mid pulley mount. When I engage the PTO it seems a little loose, how tight should it be? Is there a tensioner on the Upper Belt?
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive

Yes. The chain on the Left side of the tractor should adjust the tension. Hope This helps!!!

Hi, great video. Does this model, require rear weights?
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive 6 жыл бұрын
Yes. I order to work the snowblower properly you need to have a weight on the back of the tractor. We built a stand and put 70lb. sand bags on it. You can see it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmnGc6Rph9Gmi6M

Regarding the 4 bolts you have to retrofit on the frame of the tractor for the drive to attach to: Where on the frame did you drill? Is the an alignment with anything on the frame for one pair of the holes so you get the position right, please?
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive
@TheWippsFamilyOfFive 5 жыл бұрын
We did not have to drill any holes to put any of this on. I am not sure that I understand your question.

What did you do with the deck engagement cable when you removed the deck? Does that have to be removed or is there a place "store" it beneath the mower?
@jamesbowden4871
@jamesbowden4871 3 жыл бұрын
The clutch cable that activates the pulleys that drive your mowerdeck also activates the pulleys that drive the auger on the snowblower. You would only tie up the clutch cable with some zip ties to the frame if you were using a snow*plow* on the front, because it does not connect to the pulleys at all.

Being a decades JD owner of farm equipment and lawnmowers this snowblower set up is a joke! What a lousy design ... you actually need a small floor jack so you can easily adjust the height and angle of the front of the snowblower. Save your back, even a small chain hoist would help tilt it...
@frios011
@frios011 8 ай бұрын
That is a lawn tractor not a garden tractor. If you continue to use heavier equipment like that on a light duty lawn tractor you will definitely ruin it. The rear end on those is not rated for heavier work like that.
