John Deere 47 Snow Blower Performance

The 47 blower doesn't move small amounts of snow very well until you bury it in some deeper snow and then its very impressive. No complaints at all with mine.

I added an impeller kit to my 47" blower on my X739... now it is unstoppable!! The gas motor will bog in really heavy wet frozen snow, but the impeller kit keeps that slush, ice and snow moving out, not clogging up the discharge chute. I have some videos of what the kit looks like over on my small channel. Keep up the good work!

Try getting some spray wax and applying it to the inside of the blower. It should help prevent it from sticking.

i picked up a new 54" blower for my x724 & it blows like mad. been very happy with it.

Based on the feedback from this video I will be doing that. It will just take me some time to get all the parts in place.

Have you looked into getting a quick hitch broom to get right down to the concrete? Use the snowblower to clear off the snow then get what’s left with the broom.

I love my 60HD broom. With the gravel driveway it is hard to use the broom so I mostly use it now in the spring to clean up the gravel I blow into the yard. Here is a video using the broom back in 2015 when I bought it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6faZ32Epbh3eJY

I realize you said that you have a ton of other projects, but if and when this blower ever needs any of the bearings, chain, and sprockets replaced I would love to see a video on it if you remember to film it. My 47 is starting to get loud and is in need of sprockets and a new chain and while it's apart may as well do the bearings too. I'm not super mechanically inclined but with a little video and some instruction I feel I can probably do it. Thank You.

We carried a lot of heat into Nov and then it just disappeared.

U need to put the steel impeller in it that deere offers. P/N AM109105. The junk plastic impeller blades are 11/16 inch away from the impeller housing. The steel one is only 3/16 away so therefore there's no "blowby" plus the steel one has hooks on each blade that grabs more snow per revolution. Throws it 50ft !!

This is an older blower with a steel impeller. I will be brining it into the shop for some work here in the near future.

From what I've seen the Deere blowers really prefer deeper snow, more so than most snowblowers I've been around. Regardless I think that blower does great especially given how tired you can tell this one is.

Now obviously I never wanted to start a beef with you about your equipment, I simply made a statement about performance not knowing the condition of the blower and also did not assume it was a performance based video. My current setup is a X720SE with a 60” blade and 45 loader for snow removal that does great for my needs. That all being said I enjoy watching your videos and keep them coming!

Blower seemed to do alot better today , dont know why it appeared to not throw it very far the other night . It did real good today , must have been a tropical delusion 😂😂

This was pretty heavy snow for December. Normally we have powder or packed powder from mid-Nov through early March. Oct/Nov and March/April snow is just mind numbing to work with. Wet, slushy, heavy, icy, you get the picture.

it all comes down to hydrolic flow and rpm. Just saying

Mostly RPMs in this case. Other than lifting the blower and rotating the chute hydraulics play a minimal role in the performance of the blower.
