That's exactly what I said to use a ball hone on a drill to scrub the rust out of the top end of the cylinder! It would do a fantastic job and put a nice cross hatch pattern in it if you work it fast enough! 👍 👏 😉 😄

For a man by himself out in the hot weather working on heavy equipment is a testament that you're The Wizard. Allen you're definitely a hard worker. Everytime I see all of the blocks you laid building The Mountain Fortress by yourself is a awesome accomplishment. I do not know what your life was working in the past but I am very interested in you're story. Maybe some day you'll share your background history. You're a interesting person.

Great to see a video upload from. You have certainly got well past the nervousness of being front and centre on the video shots. You are not short of rocks and boulders for your mountain road. You were aptly named ‘The Wizzard’ working with Heavy D etc. You can turn your hand to anything. If I may - I’d much prefer you to have another person there to assist you. All this tweaking the controls then dashing to see if you moved it enough is time consuming for you and potentially a wee bit dangerous. Just say suggesting another person be there with you. Keep up the great work Alan…….be safe.

Alan can you imagine the work that you had to do to the John Deere working out any better than it actually did? Sometimes the way that I’ve had to do things, they can be a very big, difficult, convoluted mess of different problems that just happen to be very closely located to each other. In your situation you were somewhat lucky with the way some things came apart &/or came together. Telling my mom & dad about things I would be doing & say that I really lucked out with this or that, sometimes they would tell me “Well you know it’s better to be lucky than skillful.” I couldn’t believe how many times that things actually worked out that way for me. It was absolutely uncanny how something could end up just exactly where I needed it to be & it saved me money, effort, time, etc. Thanks for letting us view your project & situation & allowing us to see how you arrived at your finished results. It seems that there’s nothing or almost nothing that absolutely stops you in your tracks & leaves you puzzled with how to get to an answer or solution. Good luck & keep on Wizarding.

Great 👍 thought
@matttafakt4 ай бұрын
That's a great idea. Although renting a crusher for that size rock is very expensive and getting a large crusher up to the top where the rock is will be a challenge in itself, the problem is "washout" from the rain. It will move that crushed rock with ease without proper culverts / drainage. Anything can be done, it's just comes with a price.

One of the best free things that someone can do to support a KZbinr in the KZbin algorithm click-through rate (CTR) is by clicking and playing the video, all the way through, the very first time you see any of their video thumbnails. Don't save it for later, play it through right away, and if you don't have time to actually watch it right then and there, save it to the watch it later playlist, and then go back and watch it again.

Alan, like many of your subs, if you use a ball hone, you get an overall better condition on your cylinders. If you can stand the job get your other ram sorted at the same time, you'll save time in the long run and you may solve your other problems. But sounds like your pump is also bypassing, as it gets worse the hotter it gets. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tiding but you know it yourself... Thanks Alan for your time and content, you bring a refreshing angle to SM. See you next time.

Thanks to you Allen I had my brother impressed with my knowledge. It’s construction season still here in northern WI. We had to make a trip south and the north bound lanes were being worked on. I saw caterpillars, John Deere’s and even a kumotsu! It looked exactly like yours but a bit newer. Yours looked more sturdy though. I was just telling my brother all about them that I learned from you and he kept looking at me surprised and he finally asked me where I learned all that. Though there were a few machines you haven’t talked about, I don’t think you’d ever need them but the one I remember the most was the one chopping up the current road. That one I could just sit and watch all day! It is very neat to watch it chop up the road so the next machine could pick up the black top. I passed by too quickly to see what they did with it but I hope they can recycle it and use it for the new road.

Alan, I hate to say it but you probably have rust and seal issues in the rest of the rams. You probably know this. You are doing good work. the junk at the bottom of the 2nd ram may have been flushed through the whole system and that may be in the screens and filter. It would be good to change the filter just to make sure that there is no moisture left in the system. It may be a good idea to drain the system and let the oil settle out and then pump a lot back in looking for any non hydraulic fluid left in the system. Good luck.
