That was my 1st modern SP combine. Used a 7721 PTO powered unit and opened everything up with a 4400, with no AC. Call me a baby, but the AC worked on the 4440, and the 4400 never had AC.

@@mikep7810 I farmed a long time before we could afford one. I'll never part with it, or my 4440 tractor. I think they wrote a country music song with those exact words as lyrics. LOL

I worked on harvest for a guy that had two 9600s and a 9500. The 9500 was a great machine that ran the 25ft rigid head with no trouble. It didn't like it too much though picking up 36ft swaths with the pickup attachments though.😂😂

The first John Deere I operated was a 7720 . It's a bit different going from an offset header to the feeder house in the middle but I loved the newer 9500's. We did custom wheat harvesting for 5 years in 4 different states & then came home to do fall harvesting in our area . What size header is on your 9500 ?? Wonderful video !!
@mikep78104 жыл бұрын
The 7720 would have been an upgrade over our 4420! We have a 15 foot header on ours

@rtdavis624 жыл бұрын
@@mikep7810 yes 2020 was tough. about 10 yrs ago my brothers bought a nice used 9600, then bought a used 12/23 planter to get the planting done quicker. They still use the old 6 row planter to plant 6 acres of sweet corn.
@mikep78104 жыл бұрын
@@rtdavis62 I'd love a split planter to do 15 inch row soybeans! a 6/11 would be perfect! Eventually the plan would be to get a 6 row corn planter and keep our 4 row for sweet corn

I’ve never run a combine just wondering what determines how long you leave the corn stubble. Nice machine

As long as you are getting the ear of corn and not running the corn head in the ground. I dont think there is a specific length for the stubble
