That's a nice combination for sure!! I'm amazed that those KELLY DISC HARROWS aren't more popular around my area. They do a fantastic job for minimal depth tillage. They fold up cool as well. Thanks Jasoni 👍🏻.

I'm for stopping DLST from bouncing back and forth. Let's leave it like it is now for summertime. More daylight that is usable. Getting dark early in the evening makes for too much time indoors due to the dark and being inside does not negate the need for AC..

My actual comment for this video.............I guess by now you know I am a fan of the twin tracked tractors. Watching this one makes me eager for warmer weather here and hopefully things to get somewhat back to normal with this craziness. I am always amazed at how well those diamond harrows work.
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
The Kelly does a nice job in managing residue and airing out the the soil ahead of the planter. I like tracked tractors especially in tillage. They simply run faster and smoother than tires. The 9RT is a good running tractor with easier access to the cab than a 9R or 9RX.

It follows the the field contour well. What is extra nice is it does not need to be raised on the turn around so it’s always in motion at the same speed.

The Kelly is an excellent tillage tool for residue management to break down the material left after harvest and air out the soil ahead of planting. It also helps incorporate fertilizer with out having to work up the field deeply. It’s also nice that with a Kelly you never have to raise the implement. @bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
Where do you farm? Here in Kentucky they have gained allot of popularity. On soybean stubble they work the surface well leaving the field looking like a rotor tiller went over. Some farms are using Kellys to sow wheat in the fall into corn stalks using an more aggressive chain blade in the front section.
@guythatpaysforyourhandouts24782 жыл бұрын
@@bigtractorpower Mississippi in the south delta. It worked ok in the bean stubble but not in shredded corn stubble. I think maybe the stalks held a little more moisture here and were sticking to the pans I guess you would say and would just snow ball. I've seen them work in other places fine.

When did JD start adding r and t to the model number? More importantly what does the R and the T mean?
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
The 9R series started in 2012. The first R series were the 8R models in late 2009. The R designation indicates it’s a premium tractor. There are John Deere E and M models as well in the 6 to 1 series. All 7, 8 and 9 models are R only. The T in RT is for tracks. The RX model indicates the model has 4 tracks.
