There's also a breaking point and I think we're already there as far as I'm concerned with these fuel guzzlers, that 9620R I've been told swallows up to about 20 gallons an hour,holy Christ you have to be a billionaire just afford to feed it.

The 8650 is a nice tractor. Growing up a farm in my home town had two 8650s and an 8640. They went to two 8870s and an 8970 in 1994.

@@bigtractorpower a brent 1084 grain cart, a 30' disk, a 50' jd digger, a 30' chisel plow and a 9 shank dmi ripper... they traded it for a 9510r.... I very much dislike that tractor.. also have a 485 quad track... Id take that tractor over the 9510r all day

I pull a 45 foot (feild cultivator) AKA digger in the spring and a 25 foot chisel on bean ground and a DMI 7 shank ripper Ecotiger in the fall on corn stalks.

Great vid. Love the 9020 series, the 12.5 had such a throaty rumble. Ran a 9220 and a 9320 and both were dependable tractors that gave little to no trouble

They do have a deep strong to them. I have filmed a 9220, 9320, 9420 and 9520 on digital. I did film a 9620 on tape. I hope to find a 9120 and 9620 to film on digital to do a full series video.

I had the opportunity to run a 9520 scraper special with an ih 330 turbo till, really awesome setup. That turbo till pulled like it was a radio flyer wagon behind that tractor, couldnt even tell.

I've had the privilege of operating a 9520 with a Dengelman blade. The 18 speed powershift on the command arm made real easy work shifting back and forth when pushing silage vs. Clutching and fighting the shift levers on the 9400 with 24 speed I used the year before

Its tough to find any 8850s that are still out working because of john deere's design for the engine block being part of the frame. Most of them by now have been retired because of the blocks cracking.

I was lucky to drive 9520 with single tyres with power of 12.5lt had plenty power 36t chaser bin. Also there dial you adjust revs up or down to hold in gear or quick change. From operating CaseIH 9370 which was a good tractor, jumping into JD 9520 was better cab n had better features especially shifting into gears it nearly turn me green LOL. It was great tractor to operate.👍

Horse power in the late 80’s and early 90’s really stahled out at the 370 hp mark. When the 9520 came along the horse power race took off. In 16 years the top model went from 450 to 620.

The 9300 was a great tractor! When my dad farmed, they ran 2 9300s and an 8970. All of them had an advantage in some way shape or form. The 8970 was a powerhouse, but you could practically watch your fuel gauge drop, even at an idle 😂

That is probably my favorite body style except for the old 7520. That engine SOUNDS like an engine. This new tier 4 stuff sounds so restricted with their 50 gallon barrel mufflers and emission crap. At 7 mph that engine isn't pulling down. He has it set running level. Good job.

What is the difference between 4WD and front assist? Can you run duals on all 4 corners of a front assist tractor? Does it help with traction?

Good question. This would be a good video topic. A 4wd has powered axles front and back with the same size wheels all the way round. Modern 4wds range from 370 to 620 hp. A front wheel assist tractor has large rear wheels and smaller wheels in the front. These tractors often can be run in 2wd and with a flip of a switch can power the front axle in tough going. Front wheel assist today can run from 18 to 400 hp. Tractors from 245 to 400 hp that are front wheel assist are often fitted with front and rear duals to help get power to the ground. There is a new class of front wheel assist tractors from AGCO that offers 370 to 517 hp. This big AGCO is displacing smaller 4wd sales.

Hi! Maybe your clips limit you where you can place your cuts, but if possible, maybe consider to leave a scene running a little longer after a voiceover is completed. Occasionally your the voiceovers are cut off with the next scene or blend over into the new clip. Of course I'm just one opinion, your videos are great! :)

Nice tillage tool. But that type of farming is obsolete. Keep the tractor, but get rid of those tillage tools while they still have some value. Get into direct seeding. Save on fuel, save on time, save money on equipment and upkeep. You will then be able to pick up more farmland.

No till farm was invented here in Western Kentucky in 1962. I film by the first no till field all the time. It has an historic marker placed in it. Some ground just requires tillage to warm it up or smooth it out after harvest. All of the soybeans in this area are no-till. I would say at least 50% of the corn is notill.

@@bigtractorpower We pretty much quit no-till around here. Over time we developed a thatch layer that way tying up fertilizer, keeping ground to cold, and creating disease problems. It was discovered all you had to do was somewhat till the seed rows, and the fertilizer/seed shank would do that. Some guys still call it no-till, but I believe direct seeding is a more accurate term. The ground "looks" tilled after seeding but it's not) We have been doing this for 17 years now and it is sustainable. The only tillage took we kept is a disc, which is only used for fire control during harvest, if needed. We are a winter wheat-spring wheat-lentils or garbonzo rotation (3 years). Soil and water erosion has been eliminated on very highly erodable ground. It will be nice when all the farmers in this area adopt this technology.

I don’t know any company that makes an 80ft disk. The largest currently is 50ft. Friggstad produced an 80ft chisel plow. When you are running that wide you need at least 600 hp.

35ft on 450 hp is a good match. Often when you go to 5 section tools the outside wings do not run as deep. I would say this was a good combo.
