Those John Deere two cylinder tractors all the best sounding tractors ever! They are loud enough with a regular muffler on it but I think they sound just a little bit better with a straight pipe on it that makes them louder but it is one of the best sounds in this world! Those that has not grown up with these tractors might have a hard time understanding

I couldn't agree more with you Mr. Carlson.

Straight pipe mufflers are for parades and tractor pulls. Hearing that straight pipe all day gets old pretty quick.

The iconic sound of a 2 cylinder John Deere can't be matched

@@jonelsonster there is no way that sound can be matched!

What??? Growing into my late 50's now, and running the stock muffler on a tractor 40 years at the time. How come that big sqare radio could be clearly heard a 1/4 mile a way but I could barely hear it right next to me?

I've always fancied an AR. The seat is nice and low so it rides a lot better than the whip-lash and rock you get on a row-crop A. Least ways, that's true of my D compared to my A. Gentle riding configuration. Thanks for the video.
@jonelsonster Жыл бұрын
I agree. There is just something about sitting low down suspended out behind the rear wheels on an AR or a D... It's very different than working on a row crop.

Glad to see the AR ran nice...sad about the plow...
@jonelsonster2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the AR runs really well. And I was really sad to see my plow break. But I think I may try fixing it... We'll see.
@MrEcm512 жыл бұрын
I tell ya, the model A’s and AR’s sound the best with the right mufflers on them. Some sound good with the straight pipe, but nothing beats that muffler sound. Is your plow fixable? Or is it shot? I hope you can fix it.
@jonelsonster2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think I have a plan on how I can fix the plow. It may not work, but at this point I don't have anything to lose.

We had one just like it in Alberta. We pulled 3 bottom 16" plow.

Yes, this is a strong puller. If we had a 3 bottom plow, it'd be fun to see how it did

The AR will pull a 3 bottom

Probably would ... We just don't have one

Is the AR the same horsepower as an A? Its stance makes it seem to be a bigger tractor to me.
@chuckwilliams9090 Жыл бұрын
@@dwightl5863 the AR has about 13 more HP than the A and weighs about 1500 more than the A . The D is the most powerful in those years 33/53 and my favorite 8.3 engine.

Good ear. The governor spring (the flat bar connecting the throttle handle and the governor) is weak. So this tractor didn't like to run fast. It's always slow.

I'm this soil it'd easily pull three. But if you're breaking sod then I'd stick with 2.
