You did everything right on such beautiful wheels, too bad one is broke. I think you mentioned paper inside the clamp. That was a recomendation years ago to put a layer of wax paper on the taper to make it easier to loosen years later. Personally I prefer a thin layer of grease or Anti Sieze. They don't have to be super tight and simply pay attention to wheel is creeping on axle. You should clean threads and use an old tap often available at flea markets. Great video and so nice to see younger people taking an interest in restoring old equipment.

Just went through the same thing with my 39 B. My collars came off with a little heat from my torch. The hubs I made a puller with threaded rod and had my welding shop cut out a circular piece with three holes in it. If you are going to keep working on those I would invest in a puller. I have the same spoke wheels. My rims were completely rusted out. I had to buy a couple new rims and cut the old hub spoke units out and reweld them to the new rims. All that cost me 1,200.00. You can find that center piece that is broken. Just have to look around.

On your B, can you show us how to replace the brake shoes or brake shoe linings?
