Bless your heart with this video! I agree with most, the instructions are terrible! My husband totally gave up on putting this together (hates reading instructions) so I got the bright idea of hunting for a "How To Video" & I scored with this one. Told my husband to get out of the way & that I would assemble it myself. Yes! Ladies you can put together & install a John Deere bagger all by yourself. I cannot thank you enough James, beautifully done! Just to let you know our mower has a 42" deck & I worked side by side with your 48" deck instructions.

Make a note that all the nuts with that bagger are lock nuts so they won't vibrate loose. Also,. You could drill a hole in your wheel bracket for the prong to attach like they planned. Nice video. I wondered how entailed the assembly was and this sure helps! Like the other guys said, John Deere should pay you for this nice video................Cheers, Jim

Got a used bagger and d140 with 48 inch deck. Previous owner never used the bagger. Got it attached to back of tractor fine but the chute to deck attachment had me puzzled. Now I see and had it attached like you but didn't think that was correct but might work. No holes or obvious place to hook straps. Thought about wrapping a tarp strap around the chute or drill a couple holes in deck.

Thanks for this fantastic video! I would have been unable to install the bagger if it wasn't for this video. John Deere needs to pull their head out there rear end and provide a decent set of installation instructions.
@larryfine44984 жыл бұрын
First, on those chute straps, drill the proper holes if your tractor doesn't have them. Second, those hooks are designed to put the straight portion of the hook directly through the hole and the bent portion will snap behind the anti scalp bracket when done properly
@HowToWithJames4 жыл бұрын
The directions never said to drill a hole. I have no doubt I could do that but I felt the solution I came up with worked just as good without going through this. This will be my third season using the bagger without issues since the video was published. .

Great video. This really helped with the install of my bagger. One problem I have after hooking up bags, the latch will not reach to close, what would be the cause for that?
@HowToWithJames5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I know on my bagger it is a nice stretch for the latch or at least it was in the begining. Getting stretch out now. I would make sure the back of the lid is not getting hung up on anything and when it closes it is directly over the bags. Let me know if that helps.

Thanks much for the video! If you can believe it, there is not 1 mention in the users manual regarding that hopper screen! They don’t even show it in the parts diagram or list it in the owners manual. Not sure which owners manual you have, but mine is “OMGX25290 - Issue 4”. Just bought mine from Home Depot last month. Dropped shipped from John Deere and was missing the entire bag of parts (brackets, cargo pin, bolts, nuts, washers, etc..). Still waiting for John Deere to deliver the last 3 parts I need to finish assembly of the blower unit to the mow deck, then I can finally use it!

+JalpaMike You're welcome! I did see it mentioned in my manual but not enough to say how it goes. I am not sure what version of the manual I had since I threw it away after installation. Pretty sad you are missing so many parts in a new box. Good luck I hope you get them soon!
