John Deere BN, 1939, spreading gravel

I use my old "B" to pull an 8ft section of 14" I-Beam to level out our gravel driveway. When pulled on a skewed angle, it moves the gravel to a slight crown, evens it out, and levels the potholes. Today there were 6 triple-axle loads of "A" gravel to smooth out.
Yes, I know, the tractor needs paint. I'll get to it.

That brings back old memories of my childhood getting to operate my grandfather’s John Deere. I was only about 12 and the rear tires were taller than I. I loved every minute of it. I sure would like to find one of those now to get running and fix up.

Yeah, but I was under-the-gun trying to get it all on and spread before dark -- too busy working that day to think much about film-making. And that was a good thing, because next morning there was 2" of snow on the ground.
