Hi Daniel, it's best to make sure lithium-ion batteries are kept at about 32°F or above for storage.

Any idea if an electric version of the x350 is in development? I’d be interested in that if the feature set matches the gas version X350 and if the premium for electric keeps the price point at least close to the gasser and not double as seems to frequently be the case.

Hi David, thanks for watching! We haven't heard if there will be an electric X350 released any time soon - but we wouldn't be surprised to see it announced. Our guess would be the electric version's features would closely match the gas model.

Juist bought the 48" inch deck version. It's a better deck, 3 motors over 2 motors and 10 ga. over 12 ga. deck - big difference. We'll see how it mows and how the controls work over my gas z445 with the 25hp Kawasaki engine and 54" high capacity deck which gives a very nice cut. My house runs on solar so it's free to charge. I have almost all electrics now, except for my JD 3320 tractor which uses ~20 gallons a years and my old Wheel Horse 314-8 with a 42" deck. My car is an EV too, I haven' paid for gas in over seven years so I know the benefit of low maintenance and no gas bill. The 25 Kawasaki does run through gas but it's a great zero turn.

What should people in cold climates do in the winter with this zero turn? JD says storage at --4F but I live in a place that can have --20 below and I've seen solid research that says there is battery degradation below freezing (32F) on Li-Ion batteries. I may have to cancel my order.

Hi Mos! Jason says: "I think you have some legitimate concerns. Your extreme conditions may need you to look at some creative solutions. Maybe an external warming device like a heating pad or warming bulb on the days it dips below -4F."

Hi Mos, We didn't see a comment, and didn't delete. We were actually looking forward to finding out the course of action you'd take. Which model are you going with, for your extreme temps?

@@papemachinery.agturf Thank you. I'm very fond of my JD equipment, it has worked wonderfully well over many years and I truly hope this problem is resolved. This is my field and I know these batteries very well, a lot of people are very afraid of them because they don't understand the technology and chemistry. They are great batteries, every laptop, cell phone and garden implement has them BUT they must be used within specific parameters to function properly and last. You simply can not store these batteries or LiFePo4 batteries below freezing. I have asked JD for an answer on this but have not received one, the only solution I can see is to remove the battery pack for the winter and that is what I suggest those in cold climates do. I hope JD resolves this, I really like the total design of this zero turn, JD's revamp of the 3 series in 2023 really made this a worthy product. Hopefully next spring I'll be able to reinitiated my purchase or even a 5 series electric if they decide to make one..

Have a John Deere 345 20 hp Kawasaki that has been driving me nuts with s random stall issue. No one can find the problem because it is random and you can't test or duplicate the issue. We also had an electrical drain on the system. Replaced main battery and put a switch on the battery so as not to drain while in storage. Then we Replaced a voltage regulator, then the main wiring harness along with ignition switch. Just when we thought we found the problem the engine stalls and won't start unless I shoot starting fluid into the left port of the air cleaner. So at first thinking it is an electrical problem but when trying to restart after a random stall a little ether in the air cleaner which now suggestd possible fuel starvation and/or electrical and no one can figure it out, even John Deere service...someone else must have had this problem...please help

I had a JD zero turn that did the same thing. What I found was that the fuel cap wasn't venting. You can test it by loosening the fuel cap every once and awhile while mowing and see if that fixes your problem. BTW, the dealer couldn't figure it out either.

Not sure how high your 'country' grass is, but this mower could probably handle it as good as any other John Deere mower in our line up. Of course, if you haven't mowed your country lawn in some time, you may need to knock it down with a trimmer first no matter what model lawn mower you decide to go with. Thanks for watching, Randy. For now this is the only electric mower in the John Deere line up, and we feel it serves some of our customers well, especially in locales where gas or diesel models are being phased out.
