Technology came a long way, What a wonderful piece of equipment, saving time, and a whole lot of man's labour. This has brought production to new and better level to the industry. Thanks for this video. John Deere has don it well.

its really quite a engineering marvel, its one machine doing 3 jobs, it gets rid of the slasher, and the delimber and its still a feller buncher, and you get rid of the skidder because they don't have to haul out full size trees. thats what the forwarder is for

This is facinating technology. Could you imagine if you told a logger from 1940 that one man could level an acre of trees per hour (or whatever the actual rate is)? He would say, "Your friggin' nuts!" Here we are ~.~

They should be feeding the finished logs into a rack or onto a flatbed or something, save having to pick them up again. What an awesome piece of equipment. I wonder what the increase in efficiency is over two guys with a saw ?!?! A million percent ?!?!
@pedrobento66169 ай бұрын
There's a machine made by Valet, now Komatsu forestry that does just that, but somehow it never got too much attention, I think the problem was in the harvesting head itself. Because it had to do all the work it normally does, plus grappling tasks, which made the machine a bit slower in unloading

this is true, i am a tree surgeon / landscaper and iv had Greenpeace at sites where i fell trees, i would say i plant 100 trees to every 1 tree i cut down over the year and i cut down alot of trees in a year.

Does anyone know if this awesome machine simply holds the vertical tree steady or actually slightly lifts it when the saw is cutting near ground level? I assume the weight is removed/lifted so the blade doesn't get crushed.
@darrenjay666510 жыл бұрын
hello warrior 7772 you are right when you go to cut a tree you grab it with your knifes which are the arms slide down to the height you want close your wheels for maximum grip and you just lift a bit so there's no downward pressure then cut. the saw makes a bit of a gap 1cm or whatever it cuts out but you can feel when the tree is cut then you lift up.a lot of the time when the tree is cut it sits on the bar and you life up it comes back,on some machines when the saw has cut through it will wind the wheels back wards to lift it up.a good operator like this bloke makes it all look easy,when your learning you bend a few bars which gets expensive.
@Zoolanter10 жыл бұрын
finally, we want progress or not; there are always good and bad results, and will continue to exist. so it is good to plant some trees to have to cut. We are 7 billion... ....so dont cry on keyboard, lets plant arround your neighborhood!!! :))))

Just looking at the comments lol i am a logger and "I" thats me and me alone think that cutting down "native" trees is wrong and not good for the earth in saying that some native trees pose a threat or hazard and need to be put down .. this video shows a plantation forest grown for wood production and to help stop the blatant and down right murder of native forests around the world .. were i live New Zealand has reached a sustainable plantation forest cycle we plant and grow trees as fast as we cut them down some native is cut down but done selectively to give smaller trees of that type a chance to grow ... But this is just my humble opinion ..

Well actually trees produce oxygen while they grow. So from the oxygen-production point of view it's even better to cut grown-up trees (converting them intro buildings, furniture and other crap for the new billion of people) and plant fresh ones. The entire mass of tree is made of carbon it took from the atmosphere with co2. So trees are the best accumulators of the co2 gas (which causes you know what), but they have to be cut (grown-up trees don't produce oxygen)
