John Deere Kuhn Cutterbar Idler Gear Bearing Replacement

DO NOT USE A PRESS TO ATTEMPT TO REMOVE YOUR BEARING
This procedure will save you approximately $150 per gear if the casting is not damaged. John Deere and Kuhn do not sell the bearing and ring separately. I am working on a Kuhn FC303 mower-conditioner but the process applies to other models.

Dos it mater wen you pot the gear bake in the bare if the ring is up or down ?
