JOHN DEERE R4045 SPREADING LIME. SCOTT FARMS 2018 LIME APPLICATION

In this video Scott Farms is seen loading their John Deere R4045 spreader with lime to apply on a field. They are loading the lime with a John Deere 7000R series tractor. They were also applying a wheat cover crop with an 8245R but it is not seen in this video.

I am just curious why you are spreading lime on such a windy day? When we do it it has to be a calm day or we lose 25% of our lime to the wind.

These are not my farms, I just film them. Scott Farms has over 20,000 acres in crops, so they cannot wait for the wind to be perfect if they want to get everything completed. Sometimes you just have to roll. Thanks for watching.

I'd love to see you with some variety in the filming - drone and up close stuff. It's neat stuff and it'd be neater from another perspective.

I have a drone and have done some drone footage in the past and will probably do some in the future during harvest season. It is just not practical to use all the time in my filming. It is just too risky since I do not own the equipment. I can't afford to crash it into a tractor and be forced to pay for the repairs. Just a windshield would set me back over $1,000 for a newer tractor. My KZbin account would have to stop immediately while I paid for the repairs and that would take money from my family's pockets and that is not going to happen. I have also done some in the cab filming but I refuse to ask someone for a cab ride to film. I just will not do it. These guy are out their to make a living and I am just out doing something I love to do and that is film and just watch farmers work. I do not want to interfere with them doing their jobs not even for a few minutes. I hope this explains why I film the way I do. I am working on a new camera to attach to their equipment to do some videos. Maybe sometime this year if KZbin does not completely go to demonetized accounts like I have heard. Thanks for watching.

You would hate Las Vegas then because it's the middle of June and it's freezing out here I'm doing my best to stay warm. But that is a job in it's self. Lol

Since they are so large can you film the lot, I’d love to see all that equipment in one place?

It is not going to happen. They never have all their equipment in one location. They have a shop but it hardly ever has anything but semi trucks there. They are all out in the fields in three or four different counties. Thanks for watching.
