Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

I was worried at first because when you were pulling out of the garage the windshield was covered in scratches or streaks. Came out great but I noticed sometimes you don't let the blower finish eating and you get left with a pile pushed up at the end

Seeing how well the gas unit does, kinda wonder how the older diesel one (749) works. Or even the new gen 758. Kinda wanting to demo one of those tbh.

How far will your snow thrower throw that HEAVY snow? Mine doesn’t throw as good as my neighbors 2380 Kubota with a 2822 blower 55 inch .Mine is a John Deere X739 with the yellow 54 inch blower from JD

I remember that snow storm. I live in Cudahy. We had 10 -14 with 2 1/2 foot drifts. I raked the snow off my roof and it fell like an avalanche.
@rebel3902 жыл бұрын
Oh yes! I remember back by some of the garages I was looking up like 3 feet above my head at the top of those drifts! Smashing them down with a wide aluminum coal shovel so the blower could clean it up. I love snowblowing, but that was absolutely insane!!

Don't know if I will get a response on this since this video is so old but I was wondering where you can get snowblowers for the x739 cause I looked long and hard but it doesn't seem like JD is selling them. Couldn't find any 3rd party products either.

Hello, thanks for watching! You may have to search used tractor sales sites. They usually go for $1,000 to $2,000 used. Ouch! Keep up the search man!
@badwahs2578 Жыл бұрын
@rebel390 Thank you for replying so quickly but I was wondering if you need any additional things to attach the snowblower to the tractor and if there are any specific models of snowblowers I should look for? Just so I have an idea of what to look out for. Thanks
@rebel390 Жыл бұрын
@badwahs2578 yes, you will need the quick attachment unit that has the hydraulic cylinders to operate the front attachments. Also the long front driveshaft if you don't already have one. You may find all these parts used... just search for John Deere 47" snowblower, and X series quick attachment unit. Sometimes the quick attach unit will include the front driveshaft. Not cheap but once it's all set up, it's a nice setup. Good luck!

Is that engine at full throttle? It doesn’t sound anywhere near it. You should always run blowers at full throttle.

Nice video, what size is your shed? What size is the door of the shed? I’m getting a X738 next week and i need to get a shed
@rebel390 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I have a 12'x16' shed. I raised the door opening to 84" because I wanted the low profile magnetic mounted strobe light on the cab roof. Luckily my metal roll-up shed door had enough extra to close the new larger floor gap. I have way too much packed in there, but it was the largest shed allowed on my small city lot. Good choice on the X738, good luck!!

I run my equipment very hard, and maintain it very well... it must keep up with me or else it goes bye-bye for something more durable that can take some serious work! Ha! That snow was like wet heavy cement, very high moisture content. Not easy to shovel or snow blow. When I bought this machine used, it had a worn fan bearing that you can hear rattling pretty loudly. Had it replaced under warranty.

Did you have the impellar rubber flapper mod in this video? It's doing an amazing job in wet snow. My 54" can't even move 5ft of snow if it's wet. I plan on doing the mod if I can get the same result.

How do you have the shoot cylinder hook up? To be able to adjust from cab?
@rebel3902 жыл бұрын
the cylinder on the chute for height adjustment is part of a kit off ebay. It came with the electric cylinder, wiring harness to the battery and back to the dash board, and a rocker switch to activate it up and down. Just do a search for snowblower chute kit, and find the correct one for your blower. Good luck

I'm 25 miles west of Boston; have an x595 with a 47" blower. Since the day I bought it; I've yet to meet my match with the 🌨️🌨️ snow 🌨️. Blower bites into it like it's cream cheese. It does however like the "dry" snow vs the "wet",,,,,,,🤔. I want to buy that Kabota RTV x1100c, with a blower; use it for the "dry" snow, then put my 54" blade on the x595 & use that for the "wet" snow. I'll be happier in the RTV, with the cab. Always colder to get that "dry" snow, and I want to be warmer getting rid of it.

Well, I don't have a good answer for you yet as this machine only has about 60 hours on it, only 20 by myself. I have used it for one winter now, and we had 2 really wet heavy storms. Is your engine running on all cylinder? I have an old John Deere 322 with the 47in 2 stage snowblower (commonly named "The Fridge") and I never could bog my engine like this, even in 2 feet of wet snow. It is only a 18HP Yanmar 658cc 3-cyl gasoline but seems to have a lot more torque than the Kawasaki engine used on the X739. Maybe something wrong with your engine, poor compression maybe??? Love looking at snowblowing videos, very relaxing. Here is a video taken from the house security cam of my old rig... : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnPdgWeIf7qLd9k Cheers Dan

We had two major storms last year, both preceded by rain the night before that froze under the snow. I've only had this unit for that one snow season, so I look forward to testing it out on a normal heavy snowfall to see if it bogs down. She runs very well otherwise. Should have went with a torquey but stinky diesel!! Ha! Stay tuned for this season's snow blowing videos for updates.

@@rebel390 Snow season coming soon here in Eastern Canada, can't wait to be snowblowing again.... it is almost therapeutic. Did lots of upgrades on my 322 this fall, did the chute rotation mode to get almost 270 deg rotation, replaced the PTO shaft that was very wobbly, fixed the snowblower gearbox shaft that was very damaged causing shear pin to break often, extended the front of the cab so I can now use the "Float" by allowing the lever to be pushed all the way in the front (was hitting the cab before), added strobe lights all around, installed a cab heater (from engine coolant), installed a Horn... Will also upload some videos later this winter. Cheers
