Nice video. Two things. If you reverse the raise lower connections on your hydraulic connections so that the bottom lever controls raise lower function, you will find that pushing the bottom lever full forward places the plow in “float” mode. The plow lowers and floats with the contour of the ground surface ( without downward hydraulic pressure). A nice feature. Second, i don’t modify the rpms on mine to reverse. Blades continue to rotate in reverse if you pull up (slightly) on the pto mechanism on the right OR press the yellow button on the left side of steering wheel. Not sure why Deere designed w both options but there are times when you use the left hand to push ( e.g. when the beer is in the right... jk).

In Mowing 90 acres over the years I’ve also found you can get about 1600 hours before overhaul on the gas models but 3500 hours on the Yanmar diesels. Fuel consumption is about 1/2 as much as the gas equivalents. Make sure to get the optional anti scalp roller.

Nice tractor and thanks for the video. I thought you might mention the turning radius while mowing. It should turn very sharp unlike a compact utility tractor which has a much heavier front axle which is necessary to support the weight of a loader. Specified turn radius is about 2 feet compared to the JD 1025r which is more like 7 feet. Big difference there. The 1025r also has the ROPS that will annoy you continually if you are mowing around trees and other low hanging obstacles. For mowing, pretty hard to best what you have there.

Engage pto implements like the mower at a lower throttle rpm then move up to whatever manual says do and to disengage an implement slow the rpm a bit. If you engage at full throttle it puts to much stress way too fast on everything and will wear or break it all faster. My Kubota BX recommends 3200 rpm for maximum blade tip speed on a 54 inch deck. Just read the manual or ask your dealer if you can’t find it in the manual. Have fun !

The gas is good and all but will drink fuel and that’s the main reason I didn’t want it. The diesel is pretty efficient and the it doesn’t bog down and it’s very torquey. It’s great for plowing my driveway and mowing 2-3 hours if I need it too
@rcclassiccrawlers43683 жыл бұрын
Also diesels typically hit their peak torque at lower rpms which will make them last a lot longer. Whereas the typical gasoline engine needs to be run at full throttle in order to hit their peak torque which will tend to make them use more fuel especially under a load. In my opinion.

Good question. I paid approximately 10k for the X758. The 1025r base price is about 15k, and the real added cost is a backhoe and bucket if you so chose and with a mower you’ll be almost 25k. @@tylernicholson5319 If a beautiful cut is what you are after, nothing beats the X7s, they have a better, lighter footprint. You still get full hydraulics on the X7 and Little Buck Loader makes a beautiful bucket for this one specifically, The Little Bull. About$3800. It drives like a car with an automatic transmission. Easy to adjust mowing speed according to grass depth/thickness. I have yet to get used to the long throw of the blade engagement lever but kind of get why it is that way. It allows you to hold mowing for short moments if you need. The engine seems very substantial and the frame has very little flex, both adding up to an impressive package. All my previous tractors were 18 to21 hp with 42in decks. This one is 23/46. I mow about 1.5 acres about every 5 days here in Alaska and that mowing time has been reduced by about 20%, partly due to the very tight turning radius. No loop arounds lol. Hour meter, cruise control, reverse mowing capability,deck cleanout and easy assembly all add up to a very well thought out tractor.

Get a Johnny Bucket scoop.... best investment you will make in this machine or Any power equipment. This machine takes the "Sr." version (Jr. is not hydraulic). You'll never need a wheelbarrow again and you can bury a horse w/it if you want 😀. Add on at least the toothbar for digging and maybe the snow-edge for plowing. (but they have a plow blade that swaps in of you want, too) Very few ppl need to "load" anything with a loader, and this keeps your cg low and safe (for mom or kids too) and the frame isn't up over the wheels so you can ram right into stuff if you want to.... you'll Never have that fun with a loader. Go get one. I have absolutely no connection with them, just have their Jr. model on my Simplicity and it's awesome-

No, always mow at full throttle. It helps keeps the engine cool and puts less strain and wear on the engine. Always run at full throttle no matter what.... also engage blades at full throttle. theyre designed to run like that. always engage and disengage at full throttle, and always run at full throttle.
@Rob_Cleans_Cars4 жыл бұрын
Good to know. I'll take any advice.
@semiprofessional84704 жыл бұрын
Never engage or disengage at full throttle. And you're not hurting it at all running at a lower throttle setting. It's liquid cooled with a thermostat. Air cooled engines you should mow at full throttle. Very nice tractor and video.
@coltonbriley89564 жыл бұрын
I agree air cooled mowing should be full throttle but liquid cooled you can idle and mow if you wanted lol at least without overheating. And if it did get hot theirs a warning light. I run my diesel about 60% throttle when brush hogging and 80% with the finish mower
@TheWarbut133 жыл бұрын
@@semiprofessional8470 why mow at full throttle with air cooled? You just have to keep moving with them to get air to them. Makes really no difference high speed or low.

Those machines are way overpriced! Your paying for union wages and benifits. They are a better product than the box store crap as long as your up above the 300 series. And don't be fooled by the low end stuff at the dealer. It's the exact same crap as the box stores and even built in the same plant. Ever notice the brilliant engineering with the way the fuel tank sits in the tractor? No hold- down of any kind . Just floats in a confined space. You think spilling your beer is a problem? Just wait until a hole is worn through the fuel tank from bouncing around with every little bump or rut you drive over! A cars battery and even that tractor battery is secure for that very reason. What the hell was John Deere thinking ? ... or maybe not!

@@northdakotaham1752 that's not true. If you look on the frame of any jd tractor there is a little plate with the serial number, month and year of assembly and the place where it was built. For most compacts it is in Moline, Illinois.

@@lucapecorari8801 that seems logical...but since JD is already using Yanmar engines, what about the transaxle? Is that made by others also? I will look on the tractors here, 1025r and just bought a new X758 with Yanmar diesel. Could it be that the tractors are only just assembled in Moline?
