I think we are beginning to remember the power behind John Denver's songs. It is God. God's plan of wrath for mankind might be coming to our earth, and if not, let's do what John Denver sings. It's about time! 💓🐑

There aren't any famous singer/songwriter out there that can even come close to John's voice and the songs he sangs. He sang from the heart because he cared for either what he was about, or he sang about what was happening in his life. He put so much in to his music. He believe in all that he was involved in. Oh, how we need him here now. JD, we miss you so We were blessed to have you for 53 years, but it was not long enough. Sing with the angels my friend.

As one of my favorite entertainers, I may have a ton of predudice, but I find John Denver's songs to be as much a sermon to live by and as a teaching about the wonders of Nature. His understanding and extreme connection to the spirit of Nature comes through his music and if we truly LISTEN, that feeling is transferred to our souls.

I so want to thank you for posting this. I saw JD live in 1986 when he was touring with just his roadies and his guitars. This song was the last one on his just released album and I already loved it but he sang it that night with such urgency and feeling and with just a little bit of justified anger on that last “and it’s about time!” I have listened to several live recordings released during his lifetime and after but none of them had the same feel of that concert performance I heard in 1986. They all ended the song a little flat. Well, this one does have that same soaring call to action! Thank you so much for finding and posting it. It’s a gem. Truly “very rare.”

In the late 1960's I thought he was so phony, and his voice was too nasal. But his voice changed entirely, becoming powerful and resonant and full, and his stage persona mellowed into a sincere person who wasn't faking it to be famous. His songs were always unforgettable.

People have a lot of different views of John Denver. For me, his music helped me make it though some very hard times in High School and College. Then his songs were part of happier times in my life with the song Follow Me at my wedding and the song The Gift You Are at the baptism of my son Jon. I miss him but always go back to the music.

I love what he says at the beginning. I think its so important that we recognise and acknowledge the changes that ARE happening. A lot of people see these calls to action as unrealistic ideals/dreams and so rather than stepping up to take responsibility to do their bit (whatever that may be) they fall into despair and helplessness. Or they hide behind cynicism or a distorted perception of science, trying to hide their fear and ignorance behind what they mistakenly believe is an appearance of superiority. The true scientific mind is an open mind - responsive to evidence. As Leonard Cohen says "the signs are there for all to see." I hope this song moves more people to begin to take action, remembering that the smallest act does count (putting your "soul power to the cosmic wheel" John L. :) ) and the best place to begin the change is inside yourself. Peace. X

Every mind that can be changed, every heart that can be turned to the desire for peace, harmony, balance, compassion and love, is a step in the right direction and a new hope for our currently precarious future. Please share this video, and nurture John's beautiful seed of compassion so it may grow and blossom into "the flower that shattered the stone". Thank you so much for posting this masterpiece of truth.
