John Denver is pure talent. His voice is clear and unmatchable of the classy and highest quality

John was the consummate musician! While he excelled on 6 string and the more difficult 12 string guitar, he also played mandolin and fiddle, and occasionally accompanied himself on the piano. Of course his most excellent instrument was his beautiful tenor voice! Oh, how he is missed!

I’ve been a diehard fan, since 1971‼️ The first time I saw John, play the piano, was my last concert of him...the Fall of 1993...to celebrate my 40th birthday!!! I was SO impacted, hearing John play/sing “For You,” I literally sobbed in my seat❣️ Such memories are forever a comfort to me‼️🤗🥰

The 2 songs together prove what I've always said; John was so much better live than recorded. I don't know why he always felt he need to bring his voice down, and bring instruments up when in the studio. It's why I'm so grateful there are recorded live concerts of him and I wish they would release more. I was front row at the harbor lights one, And I thought it was one of his best performances (Which is saying a lot). I wish they would re release that, because I am missing getting a disk (1 of the reasons I haven't sold my old, Non drivable car yet is because I fear it's stuck in the CD player).

Respectfully, I think for John the question might have been, did he know how good we all thought he was? And how many of us would still be playing his music regularly! I remember hearing that Elvis felt that no one would remember him in, I forget if it was 10 or 20 years. So I think sometimes the greats don't realize the lasting impact they had on us. To this day I listen to JD Extremely regularly and desperately miss his concerts. They were so good for the soul!

He was really a country and westerners singer in the tradition of the old “Nashville Sound” (like Jim Reeves before him), but was such a good singer broke through to the pop charts. Like Reeves, he was another C&W singer who left us too soon (wired, they both died in airplane crashes).
