So great to see a demo that helps me make a choice on a product rather than staring at some guy playing harmonics and tapping a hundred miles an hour. Well done my friend, very helpful.

Wow! The slap tone with the preamp engaged sounded so damn good! Complete night and day difference from the passive tone!

That pre sounds so much better than the stock fender pre

It would sound in bad hands too! good tone is not really inside electronics but just in your hands! Motown records still rock not because expensive preamps. IMHO. Nevertheless great video, great tone!

Very informative demo and explanation can this be applied to P&J pickups 5 String? Thank you so much the response 🐵👌

The comparisons should be level-matched. The active pre is clearly allowed to make use of its boosted volumes to create the illusion of "better", which is always a no-no in all things mix-related. Not dissing the product. I put a J-Retro in an old bass and it was amazing and the reason I'm watching this is that I'm thinking of getting one for my current bass. Just saying that this comparison isn't the fairest.

Did he said for bass filter +-15dB at 50kHz?
@stephenhookings19855 жыл бұрын
For sure 15 at 50kHz ... Bat shit crazy frequencies :-). Didn't hear the -15. Glad I heard this video - I bought a cheap external box from StudioSpares and it does an imitation of this preamp (bit noisier) - I thought mine was broken but I can hear the similar thud now. Maybe I need a better amp or speaker cone.

The Preamp run at 19V in this video?

Man I had never seen a right hand thumb that bent among professional bassist. I guess you have thousand of hours of playing bass for ending with a finger like that.

A SIRE Bass sounds better. The Preamp of the Fender Bass is crap, and also the Pickups. I sold mine.
