I'm British and 46 years old and Elway made me become a Broncos fan. When the NFL was shown in the UK, I loved Elway and how he played the game. I sat up as a 9 year old kid in the early hours watching Broncos games due to Elway. I saw us lose so many Superbowls and to see us get there when we won them finally with John, I have to admit I cried across the pond. Twice well, icing on the cake. I've sat up watching our highs and lows, recently, I say recently, but you know what I mean with Peyton and other QB's. As Broncos fans, nothing comes easy for us, we make it tough, but it's why I love the club. I've never been to Mile High or the States, but I'm hoping someday to go to a game. I love the Broncos and the fans

If you're a foreigner, I can assure you, I've watched the game my whole life-54 years-and John Elway was in a class by himself. I've seen every Hall of Fame qb since the early 70's, and only Staubach and Montana can even be MENTIONED in the same class(and Johnny Unitas from the earlier era).

@@AltezzaGang15 Really? The year after Elway retired, they came back with Davis and started 0-4 before he was injured. But WITHOUT Terrell Davis, they continued to be among the league's best running teams...but never a serious winner. Gosh, wonder why that was? Davis flourished when he was part of the best offense in football. For most of his career, Elway WAS the offense.

Oh, it was a different world...Ironic that you'd be a Raider fan. I was just watching an old game on dvd. It was the big win Denver got against the Raiders in 1995. And to look at the score-27-0-you'd think it was easy. But Elway took a beating in that game that most of today's guys simply could not deal with. He had a big night throwing the ball, but spent half the game on the ground. It was a man's game back then, and nobody was any tougher than John Elway.(though to be fair, your team had a really tough qb on the field that night too in Hostetler)...

I am a Miami fan, and this play and ability to do this is why he won and Marino did not.. People don't realize its these little things that are the difference between a champion or not. Not super stats and the best release or whatever else, you need to make this type of play at some point in a season to win a playoff game or superbowl and be a champ. Elway was able to do it even at age 37
@BrianReno-qy9wk Жыл бұрын
Your right but he did this his entire career. Whatever it took to win ... Look at his punt yards and he's also been a receiver a few times.. it's his smarts and never say die. If Jim McMahon was as tough and athletic as elway he would have won 2 more Superbowls... elway beat McMahon in Denver and McMahon had a 28game win streak come to an end 31 28broncos but. McMahon passed for I think 500yrds ..I'd still take elway with the 98broncos against any team in history....
