Definitely the live performance Sydney final night 1992. Tim Rice was in the audience that night. His acting performance is crazy good. John is 75 today too. ❤❤❤

I just watched the live version from the final night in Sydney. It blows my mind. Well worth a watch. So much passion. I think the album was recorded before the show went on tour, so his performance of this song improved a lot, IMO, over time. ❤ I love your reactions your voice is so soothing and your prayers are appreciated. I love Farnsey singing this, though this is a studio version and he only really lets go and pushes his voice when performing live. There is a vast difference and the emotion live is clearer and hits different ❤ I agree with the others that you would like the live version from the Sydney final performance, even if you just watch it in your own time. Thanks for reacting to John again. I hope you do more. He will continue to amaze you 😊

I just found your reaction to Dan Vasc's version. He's excellent ! You may like to check out Australia's Anthony Warlow, an opera and musical theatre performer with a fabulous voice. His rendition from the musical 'Jekkyl anf Hyde '- 'This Is The Moment'- is WOW factor ! Then go on to see and hear John Farnham and Anthony Warlow having silly fun doing, 'Granada,' also at The Main Event concert, too.

Oh no, I was hoping this would be a reaction to the live version from the Sydney Final night as it is soo much better than the studio version. The golden rule with Farnsey is to react to his live videos as that’s when he really shines. Love to see reactions to John, but please, please always look for live performances if you are reacting to him. Of course John still has a great voice in studio performances, but he always seems to hold back a bit imo. Live he has more power, he still hits every note beautifully, is never pitchy, and his dynamic and charismatic stage presence is part of what makes him such a wonderful vocalist and performer. You are really missing out by not doing the live version!

NO NO NO mate! ALWAYS listen to John live! Please watch the final performance of JC Superstar, 1992 in Sydney, I think. Hopefully someone has posted a link. He is an "actor" and he can sing any genre, his performances bring so much more. Please do another reaction of this.

I've just watched your reaction to John's version of Help - you looked as though you found it emotional? Welcome to the club! There is a video on YT that no one seems to have mentioned - it's of John singing opera in german. It's astonishing. Gethsemane - there is a video of him singing it a capella, and there is also a video of his performance of.this, , I think at the last night of an Australian production of Jesus Christ Super Star. Thank you so much for these reactions, I've never been to a Farnsey concert, and missed the 80s music scene, was busy bringing up children, so now I'm playing catch up. July'24. UK. E❤

Just reiterating what everyone is saying here, the live version is so much better... this version is a demo by comparison. John's singing a song that he doesn't 'own yet' in this version, whereas, in the live version he IS Jesus.

There is a lot of differences between this album version and the live version. I think every night would of had its slightly different nuances. There is a live version as well.

Thank you for your reaction. I like your work. I was excited to see you were doing Farnham's Gethsemane until I saw it was the studio recording. What a shame. Thankyou for doing this version-- I hadn't heard it and actually like it better (for once!) than the live version. (Also , I cannot imagine how this Dan character who I've never heardd of could be better than John!

Great metal singer, from Brazil. He was offered a record deal, but turned it down after he found out, that the artist only get 12.5 percent of the total revenue, has to carry the taxes and pay for playtime as well. Also has to write and perform 1 album per year, for 5 years. Has to do tours as stipulated and the label owns all rights to the songs, whilst under contract. Don't get me wrong, John always had a great voice, but Dan is something else, he sings from opera to folk and most other genres. His rendition of Amazing grace, Oh holy night and others is beyond belief. Also is a great guy, has a great sense of humor, but most importantly, belief that the followers is what makes an artist and should be respected. @@heatherwickstead7980 Not to worry, I think the thing is, he reacted to Dan before John, and to tell you the truth, I grew up listening to 1 or 2 songs from John, and he has a great voice, and a few songs that is cooking, but I also is spending time on social media, and found a lot of artists, that should be big, but isn't, because they want to be independent. You have Dan Vasc, Voilet Orlandi, Minniva, Tommy Johanson, Rhen Stillnight, Noapology, First to eleven, Bad wolves, Eric Gronwell and more, I also found these artists more approachable and altogether laid back and fun. Gabriel Henrique can go super high in notes, Tommy can sing and play almost any instrument, oilet has this silky rich voice, Minniva can sound almost like Celine Dion, Dan takes songs and just makes them better, and can also change his voice to get near the original, he still sound like Dan, but he brings something more. Fun thing, a dare actually, try his channel, Dan Vasc, try a few of his covers and see. More than a million subscribers can't be all wrong. 🤣🤣

The vocals in this one are beautiful, however, I prefer Dan Vasc’s version much more. Dan’s rendition is a stage worthy performance filled with powerful emotions!

I read your comment, immediately pulled it up, and watched it. They destroyed the song. Not only can I not understand what Floor is singing, but they completely changed it from a song of extreme anguish and mental turmoil to a metal song that has no relation at all to the passion of the original. It conveys a completely different sense of what the song is about. To watch fans pumping their fists when the song is about Jesus' turmoil on the night of his capture, was like watching people cheering on a bully beating up a helpless child. Given that, along with my previous Nightwish reaction, I doubt you would want me to react to it publicly. If you want me to react to Nightwish again, pick something that's more representative of their genre.

Sooo disappointed that you only did the studio version of this. His final 'live performance of JCS has to be viewed in my opinion....Seeing his actions and passion the crowd the orchestra is nothing short of brilliant. This is not the best...

Have checked the digital wave patterns of the vocals on this before and just like they did with Tim Minchin’s performances in Jesus Christ Superstar, they auto tuned the whole album, it loses so much of the flair - it’s so unnecessary and just pisses me off!

I don't think this version is really indicative of John's performance. John is one of the few artists around that is just far, far better live than in a studio. I mean, he's still note perfect in the studio, but the real power and emotion come out when he's singing live. That's why his fans always advise people to choose live performances when reacting to him.
