Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the closing song of this particular recorded concert. This was the closing song of this particular encore. You see him on the DVD going backstage after singing this song and listening to the cheers of the crowd. After the crowd and some of the orchestra started cheering 'Sadie, Sadie', he came back on stage again for another encore and sang Sadie and finished with 'It's a Long Way to the Top (if you want to Rock and Roll)'. This makes his stamina even more amazing! Quite a few people think it was the last song though! :-)

He is the consummate professional showman who has the best of singers and band backing him. And he shows his appreciation to them. John is also humble, playful, funny, energetic, engaging and charismatic and has the audience with him all the way. Always watch and hear John LIVE and his concerts with The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are wonderful. There are lots of YT clips to choose from. Not quite true! I live in Berlin and have known and loved John for many years. It was John's decision not to become world famous. His record company wanted to market it worldwide, but he didn't want to. With the success of Youre the voice, he toured all over the world and was no longer at home. But he had a family and loves life on a farm. He didn't want to give that up. That's stupid for me here in Germany, but it makes him so human.

So....John is 73yrs of age now.....and as of last week, he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his mouth. He underwent a 12hr surgery to remove it and reconstruct part of his jaw, which went very well, and all the tumor was removed successfully. John being the legend that he is....he was joking with the medical team before going into surgery. He is a beloved artist here in Australia....and all of us were totally shocked when we heard the news, and held our breath all last Tuesday when he was in surgery. He is a freak of nature, as far as singing goes....and has been blessed by God with an extraordinary voice. In fact, he is lovingly been dubbed...The Voice here in Oz. He can sing any genre of music, and can belt out notes effortlessly. This video I think was back in the 80s. He was still belting out the high notes even just a couple of years ago...! He is a very down to earth guy, and very loved here. I can see straight away by your reactions....that you appreciate the amazing singer he is. Welcome to the world of Farnsey.....

You have just earned a sub guys. John is a National Treasure here in Australia and has to be one of the best vocalist to ever hit the stage IMO. There is so many songs to choose from , always live versions with the MSO . Your the Voice,Freedom, Banners Fall, The Simple life, Burn for You, Touch of Paradise, just to name a few.

I had the fortunate experience to be personal chef for Johnny on his 40th birthday, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas, he wanted to cook the food, I reminded Mr Farnham that it was his birthday, and I was not allowed to leave, what a great evening!!

Great reaction, John is Australia’s greatest musical treasure. He is simply the worlds best live singer, not one note through his career was off key.

I've watched probably every reaction to this song on KZbin, and I'm pretty sure you two are the first to comment on the harp. Awesome

Welcome to the start of your journey to John Farnham. That’s just a warm up to 5 decades of hearing him. His vocals is out of this world. He and his wonderful band and back up singers know how to entertain. The last concert John sang at was 3 years ago at the age of 70. He might look different and he might move a bit slower but as soon as he sings. You know it’s John. 🙂 Love and good vibes to John and his family. And 🤞for a speedy recovery as John is in hospital. Australia loves you John. So get better soon ❤️❤️

Epic. Just epic. I've only been watching Farnsey music on youtube for less than a year. I watch daily. - the joy on your faces mirrors my emotions - goosebumps, and spine tingling, and flowing tears. I'm not certain - this may be the second encore of a 2+hour concert? I couldn't recommend a favourite for your reaction because I love all his songs. He also sings this song as a faster version, similar to the Beatles' original tempo. Feb. '24.. UK. E❤

He did Black Dog (Led Zepplin cover) as a warm up song but not live. You got to listen to it. Just amazing. He's the best. He did surgery the other day and hope he have a succesfull recovery.

Lol I was literally coming to say that you haven't *really* heard what Farnsey can do until you've heard his cover of Black Dog. I've found that a lot of Aussies aren't even aware of that particular moment of musical majesty, and it's an actual crying shame. No one can come even remotely vocally close to Plant; the one and only exception is John Farnham.

Black Dog is a MUST to review.

Black Dog blew me away when I first heard it. But if you want a song with more attitude then the song that preceded Help from this concert is the one. It's a Long Way to the Top is just an amazing performance. His vocals after the solo are the hardest he has done I think.

Everything he takes on seems to be great. I discovered him early this year and I'm blown away by his voice, performance and personality.
