John Farnham: "Jack's Back Tour" Footage (1987)

Thank you for the music footage Adam. As the trombone player (The Brasstards) in John's band during his epic Whispering Jack comeback tours, I can assure everybody that the Jack's Back tours really 'rocked' musically - more than WJ in my experience. To answer questions about JB live concerts, I recorded the entire Jack's Back Sydney concert FOH desk mix on cassette tapes, which I'll look at digitising at some point - after all these years in storage....

Wow, the version of ‘Help’ on this is up there with the M.S.O version! I haven’t seen any other singer be able to knock it out of the park, time after time in every performance they do. He’s a freak.

Once again Adam very impressive work. It's easy to get someone to transfer a VHS file to disk and from the disk upload the whole thing but to edit in such a professional way is another.

Hi Adam. Thanks for posting the videos on KZbin. Can I ask where you got all of the footage from? Some of it is really rare, and the tribute to Glenn very personal. I was wondering if you have a personal connection to John's inner circle. Also, have you recently removed some of the Hey Hey It's Saturday footage you posted?

Totally! In fact, I’d bet my life on it. Streaming service might be a tall order, but I wouldn’t think paid digital downloads would be too much of an ask. Do we know for sure that Glenn is totally the one to make these kind of decisions?

I agree but not to sure how that would market as the Whispering Jack live VHS and DVD went gang busters and the Jack's Back Summer tour was a follow on from that.

@@BrandonBeard I don't think it can be "marketed" in any shape or form if we're being honest Brandon and Michael. It's just whether we can figure out a way for all this concert footage to "see the light of day" in some capacity. Forget about physical media - that won't happen in 2022, so we would have to look into whether the footage still exists, who owns it, and what it would take for it to come out in some digital capacity. Glenn (or whoever) might not even know there is a demand. Who knows!?

@@adamstolfo Wouldn't be great to get all his live Hey hey its Saturday performances together in one video. It's actually possible as they're all here in on KZbin. Well 90s percent of them anyway. Make a great video John Farnham the entire Hey, hey it's Saturday live performances collection. That would put a lot smiles on faces.
