@I'm All Abroad The song has been used in a charity campaign about domestic violence in recent years but originally was written as a political song about standing up and making a difference in the world. About making your voice heard on important social issues. And yes, domestic violence is one if those issues but it wasn't written about that in particular...

In fact they originally didn't even want Farnham to be the one to sing it. So maybe you should look into the history of the song. It was used a few years ago for a charity campaign about domestic violence and Farnham supported and took part in that. And I never once said I think it should be our national anthem. I don't, so please read the comments properly. I'd also like to know what article you read that states Australia is the no1 country in the world for female abuse, can you share? The guitarist is Jimmy's brother-in-law, lead singer from Johnny Diesel & the Injectors. Barnsie was the lead singer for the Aussie rock band Cold Chisel.
