The ultimate performer. A voice for the ages. Sometimes I think back and realise that I didn’t recognise just how good he was. His ability to master any genre, and the power and range of his voice still deliver chills. Good on you Farnsey.

John Farnham has one of the Best singing voices in the world. He is Phenomenal. On top of that he is a Sincerely nice man. A good bloke. I have loved him since he was 'Johnny Farnham' on Bandstand singing 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' and 'Sadie, the Cleaning Lady'.

The song was written by Steve Prestwich, who was the drummer for Cold Chisel and recorded on their album Corcus Animals. Their original version, with vocals by Jimmy Barnes & Ian Moss, was great, but this rearrangement with John Farnham was superb.

100% on his mike technique. He's almost 'self mixing'! You can even see during duets he pulls it away even further so as not to not 'overpower' who he's singing with. A compete master of his craft.

John Farnham is one of Australia's - and the world's - finest singers. He's in full voice in this clip at age 54, and had been performing since his teens. An absolute legend of Aussie music. It's worth checking out the original recording of this song by Cold Chisel to hear how it sounded when it first came to national attention. You can't get better songwriting!

I can't express how much I love your reactions my friend. Thank you for responding to me and your kind words. When John and Jimmy sang it together it was sung up tempo rock performance. But this one is from his heart and soul. I still relate it to soldiers who are waiting to go home from their tour of duty and hope that they can live a normal life. Each solider would be fearful of getting blown away before they could return to loved ones. Slowed down and given such an emotional performance, John just is a powerhouse performer. Wishing you all the Blessings that the New Year brings. Love from Australia💖💖
