My first time to the Coliseum I was eight years old and it was April of 1968, NY vs Oak. Micky Mantel homered in the first and the A's walked it off in 11. My parents were from Philly and their first date was an A's game in 1948, Rene Lachemann caught and Tony La Russa pinch ran for the A's in that game too. My brother worked for the organization at the Coliseum in the mid 80's to mid 90's. By that time I had moved to Alaska, but I always made it down to the Coliseum for World Series and Grateful Dead New Years runs. I snuck into the 89 World Series by going through the front office with my brother, shaking Sandy Alderston's hand along the way (the Haas family, now those were owners). I raised two A's fans by being thier LL & HS BB coach and taking them to a week of Spring Training games every March for a decade. A favorite memory being Mohamed Ali patting my son on the head and giving him an autograph on Barry Zito's leg on the cover of the program. I've watched damn near every A's game since streaming has been a thing, and before that we used to get the A's on TV sometimes on Sundays, the highlight being watching Dallas Braden's perfect game with my son or taking both my kids to the Bar to watch the 20th win in a row. Now all of that has to end because of one man. FJF

Oakland got burned by the Raiders who left the City with a huge bill after they gave Al Davis millions to build Mount Davis and then the Raiders leave. Oakland had lined up millions in grant funding for infrastructure improvements around Howard Terminal for the A's. They just didn't want to give a billionaire taxpayer money after how the Raiders stiffed Oakland. John Fisher is a billionaire, why can't he build his own stadium?

Thank goodness that the city of Oakland still has the Warriors and Raiders to root for. Oh wait. Well, I'm sure that the Oakland City Council will put all of that money they've saved on not retaining their sports teams to good use.

I hope John Fisher's name is on Epstein's guest list.

Or there's tape out there of him saying the N-word like Robert Sarver. Or praising H*tler like Marge Schott. Or all that racist shit Donald Sterling went on with

Omg this was great - eff fisher to hell. I have been bleeding 🩸 green and gold for my entire 54 years of life - I am so miserable about all this as a former season ticket holder. I said my goodbyes last year but I am still so so angry 😡

I've been a diehard 54 of my 62 years. Would stay up late and listen on the radio when hardly any games were on TV.

As a league that is falling in attendance and ratings, they've lost another another fan here. I'm done with MLB. Fisher and Manfred are two incompetent clowns. Hopefully, history will show that. Pissed!

@@ridgetop1000 I'm done too. 53 years of hardcore fandom down the toilet due to a greedy, selfish owner and complicit MLB leadership.

19:03 as a giants fan I have lost interest and respect for MLB with this whole A’s situation. It’s absolutely disgusting, and for someone that lives in Sacramento I will not support this sad ass franchise.

So you’re not a giants fan anymore? The Dodgers will welcome you to come watch shohei.

14:00 ok so playing in a run down stadium in one of the most dangerous cities in the world in front of 300 people isn’t “embarrassing”? Swear the host of this show acts like a little girl.
