John Foxx was one of the very few who was the best singer/song writers of the 80's. Also he was the original front man of Ultravox of the late 70's. Their first 3 albums were the best. I saw Ultravox in 1979 at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in West Hollywood, CA. I was 23 years old.

I have seen him live in the 80s....he was smiling at the crowds all the time! I was so in love with him and his songs of romance and beauty

Surprising what comes out of little Lancashire, England.

LITTLE?!?! What are you talking about??!! You must be a Yankee with an Anglo-Saxon surname or, more likely, a Southerner-Londoner .

I remember seeing him live three times in a week in 1983. Odeon Hitchin (he was 2 hours late coming in stage due to technical issues), Dominion Theatre, Tottenham Court Road & Lyceum, Covent Garden… Great times 😊

John Foxx live 1983. A very rare live tune. My favourite John Foxx works are Burning Car (1979) and Underpass (1980), unique and timeless music for very special fans.

John Foxx is undoubtedly one of the geniuses who modeled the British synthipop and that influenced most of the pop musicians of that moment and to this day, Gary Numan himself recognizes him as one of his influences. Thank you for sharing, great ...

Metamatic, The Garden and The Golden Section are a great trilogy, but I remember how disappointed I was when In Mysterious Ways came out. I think he'd lost his enthusiasm by the time he made that album.
@Teeb20233 жыл бұрын
@@ian_b Yeah, he definitely lost his musical "aim" after TGS. There have been a few good tracks on some albums since, but nothing has some close to his '80 to '83 period.

Mini concierto del Sr. Foxx, en el 83, con un sonido excelente, en fin un genio de la música electrónica, junto con Vince Clark, jejeje

I’m happy to see this video in his “Golden section” days. I was a high school student. At that time I did’t have enough information regard to him other than his album record and music magazine in Japan.

Wow, beautiful voice. The beginning put me in mind of Jonsi from Sigur Ros. Maybe Jonsi was influenced by John Foxx? Who knows. At any rate I still consider him to be the best front man for Uktravox. Such a great song.
