@k0stil I've played guitar for a while now but when I started, I used to think what made a good guitarist was "Shredding" and playing a fast scale but after years of listening to Frusciante, i've learned that you need a high level of Creativity (Making sounds that no one else does), Be original, and a hightened level of Feeling and soul.

Absolutely 1000% agree. Taste and creativity are more difficult to cultivate. It’s about how the music sounds, not showing people what you can do on a piece of wood, as John says.

@k0stil What instrumental song did he do that sounded simple? Yeah, maybe you can learn the guitar part in 20 min. but that doesn't make the song simple.....Try playing Ramparts where it sounds good....Haven't heard anyone do it yet even though they think that they are playing it good.....You have to add a higher level of feeling to sound like frusciante

Is it just me or is this way more pleasing to listen too rather than listening to yngwie malmsteen. I'll take Frusciante's emotion over Yngwie shredding and covering of classical songs anyday.

If I want to listen to shredding I d also go for John. Go search John with his band IKE in 1987
