Iwish I were til a dj(I was for 50 years before radio wnet to hell) and I would still be plying his records. He was one of a kind. Breath control that rivaled aopera singers nd range of 3.5 octave. His voice was also simply beatiful.

Jim, Thanks for posting John Gary's songs. He was my dad's favorite singer and I grew up listening to his songs. My dad and Mr. Gary are both gone but because of you and your postings, I can still hear them both singing. Thanks again!!!

There just aren't enough words to describe and praise John Gary and his voice. I love this different and slower arrangement of the original composition...it's beautiful. However, I'd also love to hear Gary sing this a cappella (in fact, ANY song Gary sings is worth hearing a cappella!).

I couldn't agree with you more! I get goosebumps just thinking about him singing anything a cappella! Thanks for watching and commenting :))

I don't get The sorrowful flower, please explain.. As I commented on another of his songs, his voice is better than a musical instrument. So clear and in perfect pitch!!!!

John Gary was as much a gentleman as he was a tremendous vocalist. I was pretty much star-stuck and humbled when I had the unique opportunity of driving him to LAX one day so he could meet his children there. It was a very long drive from downtown L.A. to the airport, with heavy traffic, so we had time to get to know one another for awhile. I last saw him during a concert in 1986 with his charming wife. Several years later while listening to the radio one evening the radio D.J. played one of John's songs and followed it by saying, "That was the late John Gary". I could hardly believe he had passed away. R.I.P., John.

John Gary never had recognition he deserved But his voice better than Como's , Williams and Sinatra's theyWere good ,but John's was GREAT. Have liked him since my early twenties. Now in my seventies I still love my music. Today it just is amphilied noise,no talent.,and it certainly isn't music.
