This means so much to me - after being a fan of John's playing for 40 years- I have never actually seen him perform up close- what an amazing player- really will be missed- I don't know where to begin when I think about his playing it was beyond beautiful.Thank you for the music John.

I grew up with the charismatic John Giblin from my early teens. He was a magical mysterious man who rarely did not have a guitar in his hands! He truly was an incredibly talented musician but I never got to hear HIS own music until recently, because he was a perfectionist. He was also my brother in law and I will truly miss him.

A true masterpiece with his bass cobwebs was John Martyn's "Grace and Danger".I still keep on listening to every song, to keep that fire burning. Phil Collins' drumming was the cream topping!

John added an extra dimension to Simple Minds. He was as upset as Derek Forbes was when Forbes got the sack from Simple Minds. He actually told Forbes that he had been asked to join Simple Minds to replace him. Forbes told him that if anyone was to replace him it should be John. That’s how highly he was thought of. R.I.P. Mr Giblin. See you in the next life.
