John Gorka "Writing in the Margins"

I first saw John Gorka perform live in June of 1988. He opened for John Prine at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville Mass. What struck me at that time is evident here, too, which is how John Gorka lightens you up with idle banter, then knocks you over with a powerful number. He's one of the very best at his craft and highly underrated.

Very personable performer. Heard him at the Connecticut Folk Festival in a packed room during a power outage. Very memorable evening. Great connection without all the microphones cables amps and speakers.
