I've come back to this sit down a few times. It lacks superficiality. Anthony is a great man and you can tell how similar him and Michael's experiences were. Two boys of circumstances outside of their control who have grown to become good men and turned their lives around. Tremendous

My heart goes out to Mr Ruggiano, especially when he spoke about being torn between cooperating and keeping the oath. Brought a tear to my eye. Great advice on this show for the young people. I grew up on the street and was heading towards that bottomless pit back in the 70's (I'm 64) it was only through sheer luck and circumstance that I was able to get away. I had an accident and injured myself which required months of convalescing. Basically the crew I was hanging out with forgot about me. When I recovered I got a full time job and also got into music and acting. Had I not had that accident, I don't know if I would be here typing this comment right now. Thank you Michael Franzese for Sharing these stories and your life with us. Although I sometimes disagree with you, I always find myself coming back to listen to what you have to say. Looking forward to the next sit down.

you know that this is a murderer your heart is going out to right? Murderers can say interesting stuff and have interesting life tales to tell but don't feel sorry for them.
@tonyvalentine59683 жыл бұрын
@@antoniom.1321 With all due respect to your comment, how do you know I'm not a murderer? I had a rough past and I was able to lift myself out of it. I never hid my past either. If it hadn't been for the compassion, empathy and kindness of good people I probably would have gone back to that life. People do change. But only if given a chance. Isn't that what rehabilitation is about? I also know there are some people who will never change and are evil and need to be put away forever. But for those who sincerely want to change and can make a difference for our youth of the future, we must put aside our judgements and criticisms and give a helping hand. Otherwise we're just going around in a vicious circle.

Michael and Anthony, you guys can run this type of segment for awhile. Guys who were once in the life reflect the stories are so epic. The looks on your faces are priceless. I have a suggestion it would be nice to hear stories about things the public would never hear about old wiseguys. Their favorite foods, cars, personalities, hobbies, and vacations, even if they went to church every Sunday with their families. For example it appears a lot wiseguys loved Allie boy. When they get together to share their stories it makes for good content.

I really enjoyed listening to this one, talking about the experiences of your fathers. My own dad was sort of in this life, a boxer who worked as a bouncer/enforcer for a Jewish gangster in my country, a while before I was born I can add, and he had left to run his own businesses by then. (worked for Abe Saffron). My dad was always difficult to understand, paranoid, and obviously had the scars from that type of life he had been part of. He was different to fathers of my friends. These videos are helping to contextualise that. It particularly resonated the "he didn't know any better" comment from Anthony. I am the only one of my dad's 5 children with my mum who doesn't blame him for anything and everything. Thank you for this video
