"John Hardy" by Enoch Rutherford, banjo

Enoch Rutherford (1916-2004) plays “John Hardy“ at his home in Grayson County, Virginia. Linda and I went with Alice Gerrard to visit Enoch in March 1987, for the first of several wonderful sessions we had with one of the most powerful, driving clawhammer banjo players we've had the opportunity to play with. I'm on fiddle, Alice is on guitar, and Linda is on banjo-uke. Linda also made the recording and photo.
