Most of my family have worked for john harkers back in the day thanks for the video its nice to see😊i now work on this canal and have done for several years now i can recall as a child having some of that chocolate crumb you described my dad used to bring it home and we would break it into small edible pieces using a toffee hammer happy days😊

My mum told me that she and her sisters used to get bags of the chocolate thrown to her when she was a girl. Her dad was bridge keeper at the Rea Bridge.

Thanks Chris. This video really made my day while eating my dinner in Nidri, Greece. My yacht was hauled out today, I'm getting ready for the summer. Very nostalgic trip down memory lane and the icing on the cake was passing the Ribblesdale with my dad very likely skipper at that time. Maybe my uncle Ernie (Sterry) was on her at the time but that I really don't know. I shall likely see him in a few weeks time so I will point him towards your video. I look forward to any more videos of John Harkers tankers. Have to mention the Cadbury's chocolate as well. The rock chocolate that had to be kept on top of the kitchen cupboard in our maisonette in Matson. Kept out of our reach or it did not last long. Also mentioning the bridge keepers I recall my dad buying big bunches of flowers I believe the guy was Ivor Prosser if memory serves me right. Happy days. Another thing I will mention is my first (ex)wife's dad was lost in that accident with the Severn Railway Bridge, Percy Simmonds.

Thanks Stephen, me and your Uncle Ernie go back to when we were lads with Harker's. We both share the same Facebook today, so in a roundabout way, still keep in touch. Two more films in the series to come out, Next Sunday and the one after.

Thanks Mike. The one thing frustrating for me is knowing how the others get all those hits?! Google asked me today if I wanted to pay 30 dollars each day for them to promote one of my films ..... you can guess my answer.
