Marcus Garvey's PPP, Jamaica's first political party for all Jamaican people, only received 0.9% of the national vote in 1962 in Jamaica's first election after Jamaica gained 'so called' independence from England. They chose Bustamante instead. A white Jamaican/busher, who was a cousin to Garvey's arch nemesis, Norman Manley another white Jamaican/busher. Marcus Garvey died alone in exile in England in 1940. It was Norman Manley that wrote to the British crown to have Garvey removed. It is by design that most Jamaicans don't know or care about what really went down with Marcus Garvey.

Yes. I would also reiterate what Dr.Clarke said about self reliance. It’s true that as a minority blacks have to petition whites to some degree, but we should all individually try to lessen this as much as we can to increase our individual independence as much as we can. The first step has to be black peoples absolute reliance on employment. We should all be looking for, checking out and putting together simple inexpensive passive income opportunities. It only takes a surprisingly small passive income to free oneself from employment reliance (even if you remain employed). Other immigrant races do this constantly. This doesn’t have to be larger financial undertakings like a shop premises either. You cannot begin to THINK and DO what you have to do if you have to dance to your oppressors tune for your living.

No, we don't need fools, like John Henrik Clarke! Blacks need to wake up and be more discerning! He was denying God, and making a joke out of it. Knowledge sometimes puffs you up to the point that you think more of yourself than you should! The Bible, in Psalm 39, says "Verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Surely every man walks in a vain shew." JHC sowed bitterness in the hearts of black people. Like a lot of the so called black leaders. A lot of our people today are so full of anger, and even hate, that they are not much good for anything really productive. I know this from personal, first hand experience. I am about 4 months short of 81 years old. I used to be a part of those who misled our people. More than 40 years ago.

There are no Bush Negroes in Suriname, they all came from Africa are called Marroons inthe literature, but they called themselves from the beginning 'Fiiman' which means 'Freemen' or 'Freeman', because they freed themselves. And that's what they did, they freed themselves and fought to free others and created their own societies separate from the colonial plantations or societies. From about 1710 till 1760 they fought the colonial powers and in 1760 they came to a peace agreement through a peace treaty, a written document. 1760 is before the Haitian Revolution, before the French Revolution, before the American Revolution and the Fiiman Revolution was based on the core principle of freedom and self determination. The ideas of freedom, equality, brotherhood formed the basis of their freedom fights. The Fiiman Revoltions were very important for the start of the ending of slavery. There in Suriname was the first time former slaves freed them selves and created their own societies, created their own culture with their own script, the Afaka script.
