Same here, heard this song in 90or91 late night radio and went out and got the cassette the next day. He is flat out one of the best singer/songwriters today and under appreciated! I have had the chance to see him 4 times but a few years ago with the North Mississippi All Stars as his touring band on the city streets of Detroit on a beautiful summer night was one of those that you wish would happen every year!!!

In the not so humble opinion of Luigi Jones; Johm Hiatt is one of the greatest and most underrated living singer-songwriters on the planet. No wait! Scratch that make it "alive or dead'! According to Luigi every John Hiatt album is wroth adding to any collection and their is not a bad song on any of them. There are also many songs that resonate so deeply with Luigi that he is filled with joy, moved to tears or gets the chills (the good kind) every time he hears them... This song however will always have a special place in Luigi's heart. becasue song will forever be Mia's song. Becasue Mia is; "A child of the wild blue yonder, born in an angels tear"... I only wish the quality of this KZbin upload was better but hey that's a good reason to buy a download or even better get a CD copy of the album 'Stolen Moments' you will not regret it if you are a real music lover. Cheers Rokk Lattanzio writer/director What A Great Idea #whatagreatidea #WAGI #WhatAGreatIdea #wagi #JohnHiatt

This is the song that hooked me on John 20 yrs. ago. Heard it once and hunted down "Slow Turning" at a record store. Liked it so much I went back two days later and bought "Y'all Caught?". This man should be world famous. It kills me that people know who Billy Ray Cyrus or Taylor Hicks are but ask "Who?" when you mention John Hiatt.

My favorite all-time John Hiatt song. This song came about about 6 months after the birth of my second daughter and it became to me a song about her. John's a legendary song-writer.

Just saw John Hiatt for the first time (I've been listening to him for decades) playing with Lyle Lovett. It was great. I'd love to see Hiatt backed with a band.

You have to be able to find him somewhere!!! I have 5 of his cassette tapes!!!! He's an awesomely prolific artist! His music is so good, it doesn't make it to the run-of-the-mill, mediocre, mainstream radio bullshit that we are subjected to everyday. THANK GOD!!! But he's great, and he's out there!

I was hooked on John when I seen him open up for Robert Cray at the Paramont in Springfield MA in the mid to late 80's (don't knowwhenforsure) but I never forgot him and the fun he and the Goners had on stage. Love him

I so agree with tgear77. It is a shame that people don't know who john hiatt is. Yet they have heard his songs, sung by others. A friend of mine turned me onto John and i have every album he has produced. My idol.

I just looked him up in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. My search produced no results! He has to be in there. Such an incredible catalog of songs. Got to meet and talk with him once outside his tour bus (Sonny Landreth too). What nice guys, real down to earth.

I'm embarrassed to admit that this was the first song I ever heard of Johns, and I taped the video off VH-1, when they counted down their top 80 or 75 videos of 1990 (this was like #70 or so). Embarrassing because by 1990, he had been around for at least 15 or 16 years at that point. Plus, in 1988 he opened for Robert Cray at my college, SUNY Oswego in NY. Slow Turning and Stolen Moments are such great album's. Actually, I don't think he's ever recorded a bad album, from Hanging Around The Observatory to Master Of Disaster and beyond.

I got into JH because he was Ry Cooder's rhythm gtr player but didn't like Slug Line or 2 Bit Monsters. By the time Slow Turning came around he'd really hit his stride as a writer and solo artist.

When you compare how many records this guy sold to someone like, say Madonna, you KNOW that life isn't fair. Then again, I don't think commerical success is foremost in John Hiatt's world.
