The thing I really like about this is you get nothing for 147...but get that and then the gold ball you get HALF A MILLION. So us snooker fans will see lots of attempts for the 147...very clever when you think about it. Have to disagree. I've been a huge fan of snooker for 30 odd years... Nothing wrong with trying new things and trying to attract younger fans. People said the same about adding the shot clock in certain tournaments, but that's popular and it's got a different feel to traditional... A different audience too, kinda like darts. Plus, anything that gets the players outside the top ranked the opportunity to actually make money and not struggle to break even can only be good for the game in the long run.
