Thank you for showing me this book. It looks absolutely stunning, and seems to convey such a profound depth of insight and artistic vision. My question is, how is the step-by-step book (Fantasy Drawing Workshop) included? Is it completely covered, or would it still be beneficial to get it, if I wanted to learn the basics along the way? Thank you and all the best, Ruben

Thanks for the comment Ruben, it's been a while since I looked through this one now, but unfortunately I don't own the John Howe step by step fantasy drawing workshop ( it's the older one with a brown cover right?) So I couldn't answer this just yet, I will keep an eye out for a copy or hopefully someone else will be able to help if they know. Sorry that's not much help!

@@SketchedbySte thank you for your kind reply. How is your LoTR vibe going?

This book put me right there, in the thick of a rich fantasy world -- from the safety of my living room. The art world has been good to me and books like this one were a big part of my young adulthood. I never found a gateway to a fantasy world and books like this one filled that empty spot inside me. And just maybe I got some paper cuts and tired eyes instead of a violent death at the hands of a dragon somewhere in a lush jungle. My 3 favorite art books are: - Imaginistix by Julie Bell - Beyond the Horizon by John Harris - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

Thanks for the wonderful comment, definitely a safer option compared to death by dragon haha! I'm always really undecided about Julie Bell/Boris Vallejo, an incredible artist, but I'm slowly starting to find I enjoy more 'exaggerated' art work these days, which is strange for me as I used to only really enjoy super realistic stuff! I haven't heard of those other 2 but I will check them out now thank you!

Thank you for this video! I just spend 100 euros on LOTR art books (the Gary Russell trilogy + Alan Lee's Sketchbook + John Howe's A Middle Earth Traveler) and I'm now looking how much I can get this book for haha. Used your videos to choose books by the way, so thanks for them!

Oh fantastic I am excited for you, they really are great books! I was about to ask if you had checked out my videos on all of the middle earth art books mentioned, but you've beat me to it! Please let me know how you find them when they arrive. I think you should be able to get this one a little cheaper than the others, unless it has gone up in price since release ( which could be possible! ) Thanks again for watching !

@@SketchedbySte Thank you for your reply! The final book of the trilogy arrived today. The rest will come later. And yes, John Howe's art guide was indeed available for less money. All of the books feel quite underpriced to me to tell you the truth haha. I haven't yet had the time to have a relaxed and thoughtful look at the books but when I have I'll let you know what I think! So far, the trilogy looks good. Some color art is a bit more blurry then I expected though. Will update! Thank again for your videos!

@@donn4life How did you like the Art trilogy? I just went through them myself as well, and I have many things I like, some things that were told instead of shown, and many concepts that I wanted more of, instead of just one example. But, in all, I really treasure them.
